We believe Canadians faced with a cancer diagnosis should receive the time off they need to access care, heal and focus on recovery. With the average cancer tre...atment and physical recovery time for some of the most common cancers ranging from 11 to over 47 weeks, we know the current Employment Insurance Sickness Benefit coverage of 15 weeks is not enough. Join us in calling on the federal government to extend the sickness benefit from 15 to at least 26 weeks an important step forward that would bring the length of the benefit in line with the compassionate care benefit for caregivers. Learn more and see how together, we can advocate for change: https://bit.ly/3906oCt

As part of our ongoing efforts to better understand the continued impact of COVID-19 on people living with cancer and their caregivers especially as they rela...te to access to care, mental health and coping we’ve created this short survey. Your voice matters and by sharing your experiences with us, you can help inform the work that we do. If you are living with cancer or caring for someone with cancer, we would appreciate hearing about your experiences in our new, short and confidential online survey. The survey will remain open until November 15. Complete the survey: https://bit.ly/32EPwxg

Thank you to the Queen's Women's Soccer team for raising over $10,000 and awareness in support of the breast cancer cause this past October. With research still on-going, and compassionate support and information services still in demand, we truly appreciate your efforts to continue to help those affected by breast cancer even during COVID-19. Well done!

Thank you to the ASUS Orientation committee 2019-2020 for raising over $30,100 for the Canadian Cancer Society! This group of amazing young leaders prove that - even during a pandemic - their actions speak louder than cancer. This gift will go towards making life better for those facing cancer through the #wheelsofhope transportation program - taking clients to their cancer treatment appointments when they otherwise might not be able to get there. It will also change the... face of cancer by funding critical research for infant rhabdoid brain tumors, helping some of the smallest in our world that are affected by this cancer. Thanks again to Head Gael Anika, Community Awareness, Respect and Engagement (CARE) Chair Sara, the OCs, the Gael leaders and the incoming Class of 2024 - YOU have already made a difference in showing that #lifeisbiggerthancancer. What a pleasure it was to partner with you all again this year! See more
