Barkin Impressive in Maiden Breaking Win Willow Pond Stable's homebred filly, Barkin, broke her maiden in style with an impressive win in the fifth race at Woodbine for trainer Catherine Day Phillips. Placing in the first three starts of her career this year, the New York bred filly by Animal Kingdom sat at the back of the pack for most of the race.... A Front Running Win for Barilko Three year old gelding Barilko went gate to wire to win the ninth race at Woodbine today for Trainer Catherine Day Phillips. The 6-1/2 furlong $49,700, $25,000 Claiming race on the turf was the first win in his four tries this season after previously competing in Allowance and Stakes company.... Barilko, who broke his maiden in his first start last year, held off the late challengers down the stretch to win by 1-1/2 lengths going away with jockey Emma-Jayne Wilson in the irons. Encierro wins his first start of 2020 Encierro did not give up the lead from gate to wire to win the $101,200 ninth race Allowance for three-year olds and up today at Woodbine for trainer Catherine Day Phillips.
