Potential labour shortage in electrical industry highlights need for younger, more diverse workforce. Reported by CTV News. A recent study from not-for-profit Electricity Human Resources Canada (EHRC) projects that 20,500 new employees will be needed in the electrical industry by 2022. This demand is largely driven by a need to replace people who are retiring. This was a two year study drawing on information from 140 stakeholders across the country.... The study also highlighted the need for a younger and more diverse workforce. We need to increase the percentage of indigenous and female workers in the industry. Currently, only five percent of workers are indigenous and 26 percent are female. Link to the CTV report https://winnipeg.ctvnews.ca/potential-labour-shortage-in-el
