Good Morning everyone! Hopefully, everyone has been keeping well and staying safe. The crews continue to be hard at work in the park getting everything ready for whatever 2021 may bring. This weekend is an access weekend so that you can check your trailer. If you decide to come up, please remember that the park is not plowed and we do not salt. Because we have been working in the park, some of the roads are icy and we do have a couple of inches of snow. Please make sure... that you come dressed for the conditions. The office will be closed as well as all of the bathroom facilities. Have a wonderful weekend! Kyle

Good morning everyone. After further inspection of the park, on both sides, I have great news, not one tree came down! There are some very small sticks down everywhere, but nothing large is down and no damage to any of your property. Hopefully that’s a start to a great week for everyone!... Kyle

Hello Cedar Beach Resort! With the forecast showing warm weather this weekend, we anticipate many of you will take advantage of the access dates. There are some clarifications we would like to make in regards to this access weekend and all future ones as well. The purpose of these scheduled access dates are to allow our residents to meet the needs of their insurance companies. Some policies require you to check on your trailer every 30 days when it is uninhabited. These weeke...nds are not intended to build a deck, move furniture, use the park facilities, etc. There is no running water so fires are absolutely prohibited and no one is permitted to be staying overnight in the park. If you are found to be taking advantage of the access dates beyond the intended purposes, your reservation will be void! We would also like to add that we are receiving far too many phone calls and emails from people asking to come in to retrieve belongings, perform maintenance, and more. This is not something we can accommodate. Access is limited only to the listed dates for a number of reasons. If you have an emergency and you need access outside of these dates, you can call us to schedule emergency access and there is a charge for this. On a lighter note, it’s a perfect time to rake your leaves and do other yard work, but please no yard waste bags! Just rake all your leaves to the end of your lot and we will be by next week to vacuum them up! There is no garbage to be dumped into the park bins! We do have cameras on these areas and we will be happy to return your trash to you. Please bring your garbage home, thanks! As usual, access is walk in only. We appreciate your cooperation and hope you have a wonderful weekend. Enjoy the weather while we still have it! Take care and stay safe everyone.

We have had to make a decision in the best interest of our infrastructure and we will begin turning off the water on Thursday October 29th. Be prepared to be without water anytime after 10 AM. We wish this was something within our control, but unfortunately this is our only option! We would expect nothing else from 2020. Take care everyone!

Hi Everyone. Unfortunately, I don't come bearing good news, although it is not a sure thing yet I wanted to give everyone a heads up. This Thursday the forecast calls for a low temperature of -5 Thursday night and -6 Friday night. There is very little warm-up on Friday during the day. In the past, I have learned that our infrastructure will tolerate -2 for 3 hours before taps begin to break. At $8 per tap, this becomes a very expensive lesson. If the forecasted weather ...continues we will be shutting off the water Thursday afternoon and it will not be coming back on. If this is the case, this will be the first time we have not been able to have the water on until the end of October that I can remember, what else would you expect of 2020! I will keep everyone updated as to what is going on, but it is not looking good. Please make plans to either have water on hand for the final days or to close up a day or 2 early. I will be making a decision Thursday morning. Kyle

Good morning everyone! As you have probably read in the newsletter, we unfortunately will not be doing our annual corn roast and fireworks show this year. This has been a tradition that has gone on as long as I can remember and, over the years, we have overcome some huge obstacles. In the past, we have been able to conquer horrendous weather, difficulty in getting corn, and all kinds of complications with the amazing fireworks show. The one thing that we have never struggled ...with is getting volunteers to pull off the incredible event. Unfortunately, due to COVID, we have determined there is no responsible way we can pull off the event this year. Even preparing corn would put numerous people in close contact for hours and it is simply not worth the risk. So, for the first time ever, the beach park will be quiet on Labour day weekend. Please take this time to enjoy the weekend with the people in your bubble. It has truly been a wonderful summer and we should celebrate it, just differently than before. Kyle

Good morning Cedar Beach! We have finished reading hydro and are working on billing. If you're around this weekend, you can pop by the office to settle up! The office will be open 9 am to 5 pm all weekend, but we will be closing at 1 pm on Monday. We hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving! Even though the holidays will be a bit weirder as we stick to our little social bubbles, there's still lots of room for good food and a great holiday. Stay safe!... -Meghan

All right Cedar Beach peeps...... just for you I came over and checked out the new game in Town. Slabtown Cider house in Uxbridge is well worth the 10 min drive. Lots of open space, great food and fantastic different ciders! Oh, and it’s dog friendly! If you want to enjoy the grass area just bring your own chair. Let me know what you think! Kyle.

Good Morning Everyone. I usually send this checklist out earlier, sorry for the delay. WINTER CHECKLIST - Winterize trailer Blow out water and use RV antifreeze. If you are not going to do this yourself make sure you use someone reputable, if done wrong the mistakes can be very expensive. This needs to be booked well in advance. Calling around to book this at the end of October may not have the best results.... If you know you are leaving mid October then book the winterizing for then. Book it now that you are thinking about it..... - Disconnect water and hydro connections - Do not wrap electrical connections in plastic bags - Do not wrap your trailer, your water heater or anything else in plastic. The plastic doesn't breath and will only hold in the moisture and stuff will rot faster. If you're not going to believe me and still want to wrap things in plastic; at the very least please don't wrap my stuff in plastic...aka hydro meters. - Ensure that your lot is clear and any personal belongings have been put away - Make sure there is no food or garbage in the trailer or in shed to attract animals - All cleaning supplies and anything that can freeze are taken away - Remove any tap splitters on the water connections - Put awnings and gazebos away There is still lots of beautiful weather left, I think the fall is the prettiest time throughout the grounds, but as we start to think about closing up, consider the above. Hey Cedar Beach! Just wanted to let you know that the washrooms on Georgella Terrace will be closed for the season on Monday October 5th! We're tearing up the broken concrete and building a new deck, which will be much safer and easier to access. Also, we are working on hydro and will have the sites read by the end of next week! Good morning everyone. Unfortunately I learned this morning that 4 of 5 bathrooms were vandalized last night! There are no transient customers in the park, this is being done by seasonal residents.... Starting tonight, all of the bathrooms will be locked up at 8pm again by security. Let me be very clear on this. When we catch the individuals doing this they will be removed from the park in accordance with the licence of occupation. You are responsible for the actions of your children at all times. Further to this: If you do want to use our bathrooms, you need to put on a mask! If the lack of mask wearing continues we will simply lock up the bathrooms all together. All of you have bathrooms in your trailer, using my bathroom is a privilege and requires some simple rules. 1) wear a mask 2) don’t damage property that you don’t own. If this proves too complicated to follow there is a really simple solution. Kyle

Good morning everyone, welcome to stage 3! Unfortunately we have been fighting with the merry run water heater since opening. It needs a new gas valve. The one that was ordered a month ago was installed the other day and turned out to be defective! A new gas valve has been ordered but due to Covid shutdown, supplies are limited and it will be 3 weeks for the part. We have called around to various suppliers but as this is a propane gas valve and we are out of luck. For now the...re will be no hot water at Merry Run, as soon as the part is available we will have it fixed. The other bathrooms, hot tub, playgrounds and laundry facilities will all open for stage 3 today. Please remember to wear a mask when inside public commercial buildings. York Region has announced that we are set to enter stage 3 as of Friday July 24th! We have come so far together and it’s a relief to see the progress we have made. Following the restrictions is proving to be effective, so let’s continue doing our part. Thank you everyone and enjoy the rest of the week! Here are some details about this next stage of opening: - outdoor social gatherings are permitted (up to 100), but a distance of 6 feet (2 meters) is still required - masks are... still required in all indoor public spaces (washrooms, trailer sales appointments, etc.) - the hot tub at Woodside pool will be opening, pending the inspection scheduled for tomorrow with York Public Health - the laundry facilities at Merry Run will open - the new laundry facilities at Hilltop and Eastdale are soon to follow - in the washrooms, every other shower will be open for use, but we encourage you to continue to use the facilities in your trailer when possible Socially-Distanced Movie Night! We are so excited to announce we will be doing a movie night to celebrate! There’s no reason why everyone can’t bring their own lawn chairs and snacks to enjoy a movie while keeping a safe distance. This will happen this Saturday (July 25th) at dusk in the sports field. We really want to bring some fun back to Summer 2020, but it is important that everyone respects the social distancing requirements of 6 feet during this event. The movie will be announced on Facebook soon! Other news... Hydro Meters have been read and sites have been billed! They are available for pick-up in the office. They have also been emailed, so check your junk folder. FIRE BAN IS STILL IN EFFECT As of July 22nd, the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville has not lifted the fire ban. All open-air burning is suspended, including chimineas and wood-burning fire pits. Exceptions to the ban are gas/propane fueled appliances. Good afternoon Cedar Beach! As we await approval for York Region to move into stage 3 of opening, we would like to make an announcement regarding mask requirements. Last week it was announced that York Region will require all individuals to be wearing a mask while inside a commercial building. This begins Friday July 17th and will continue until November 30th. What this means for us is that everyone using the washroom buildings and laundry facilities must have a mask on. If y...ou refuse to wear a mask, please only use the washroom inside your trailer. We also require you to wear a mask if you are coming for a sales appointment to view a trailer. We will have more news as soon as we are approved to move into stage 3. This will include laundry facilities and playgrounds. Also, the fire ban has not yet been lifted. Please continue to social distance, wash your hands, and stay safe!

Happy Canada Day Cedar Beach! Hope you are keeping cool on this hot day, whether it be at the pool, the beach, or on your deck with an iced beverage. This Canada Day is a little different than ones in the past, but there's no reason why it can't be enjoyed with family and friends (from a 6' distance of course). Remember, if you are doing fireworks, the best spot to do them is on the beach. Have a good one!

Good morning Cedar Beach! We have good news: the pool is going to be OPEN today, Friday June 19th!!! This does come with a few new policies in place so read the following carefully. Kyle spoke to York Region Health countless times and spent hours clarifying and negotiating policies regarding the pools in the park. The conclusion is that the pools will operate at half capacity. This is conditional based on how well everyone can follow our policies, so we ask that you please fo...llow this rules. If people begin pushing the boundaries, the set capacities will be lowered by a lot (we’re talking 30% capacity, which is no bueno). In regards to visitors, we will begin to allow visitors on Friday as well. Unfortunately, to better accommodate the new policies in place for the pool, no visitors will be allowed pool access at this time. Season pass holders will have access, as long as you have picked up your wristbands from the office. Policies for the swimming pools: - you MUST have your wristbands to enter the pool deck (we have new lifeguards this year and they will not know you, no matter how long you have been in the park) - every two hours, the pool will be cleared out for the next session of swimmers (this is to ensure everyone has a fair chance to swim) - when the lifeguard clears the pool after each two hour session, you are to exit the pool regardless of when you entered - you can circle the pool and rejoin the back of the line to re-enter the pool - any patrons not following new policies and/or not respecting instructions of the lifeguard will be asked to leave immediately POOL HOURS Woodside 9 AM - 11 AM session 1 11 AM - 1 PM session 2 closed for lunch break 1:30 PM - 3:30 PM session 3 3:30 PM - 5:30 PM session 4 closed for dinner break 6 PM - 8:30 PM session 5 Lakeside 10 AM - 12 PM session 1 12 PM - 2 PM session 2 closed for lunch break 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM session 3 4:30 PM - 6:30 PM session 4 closed for dinner break 7 PM - 8:30 PM session 5 What’s open: - both pools are open starting Friday per hours posted above (weather dependent, as usual) - the splash pad will be open, as soon as the motor is returned after being repaired (ETA is two weeks) What’s closed: - the hot tub will remain closed for the time being per York Region Health, but we are anticipating opening it once in stage 3 As you may have heard, we have decided to close down the tent sites for the remainder of the summer. We are also limiting reservations on the short-stay trailer sites as well. This is all done to help control the number of people in the park. We will follow up soon with more information on bathrooms and laundry. We are working closely with York Region Health to ensure we are acting safety, but doing our best to be sure you all can enjoy the rest of the summer. This weekend is going to be a hot one!

While we eagerly wait for Fishbone on the lake to open, the patio at Friday Harbour is open for those who want to go for a drive! Pretty fantastic day to get in some much needed patio time.
