Beautiful October...

Since Pow Wow (we shared trails with them) went out of business, our cross country ski trails have had to be reduced. We are creating a small yet better trail that will be all on Cedar Grove property. This trail will allow us to get on it and get it groomed sooner in the season. It will also be good for mountain bikes, hikers and (maybe) even strollers. The skiers who want to put in serious KM’s go to Arrowhead anyway, so this will be a good short trail for those who just want to try it out and get a short ski or snowshoe in and come back to a warm fire in their lakeside cottage.

The month from mid September to mid October is a favourite of many Cedar Grovers. Hard to disagree. Morning frost, glass calm lake and a hint of colour this morning.

One last final goodbye to summer...

We made it to September! What a strange summer, the strangest in our 93 years. One thing we are very proud of is how many guests commented that they hadn’t really done anything since March, but were willing and excited to come to the lodge because they were confident that the combination of our naturally spacious set up, and our Covid-19 plan made them feel comfortable. ... The guests have been so wonderful about not arriving until after 4:00 to let us get things ready, wearing masks in the lodge, adapting to the meal seatings and more. We hope the fall guests will be as wonderful, flexible and understanding.

Fall update: We are just a few short weeks from the Fall season. We will continue with all of our current Coronavirus precautions through the fall. This means there will be 2 seatings for breakfast and dinner and a packed lunch. You will have a 15 minute window for arrival of meals to ensure safe social distancing of the two seating cohorts. You always have the take out option if that works better for you.... We are basically full for this fall but expect more cancellations to come in over Coronavirus so stay tuned to the reserve page of the website for cancellations. Normal cancellation policies apply. If the case numbers increasing (which the majority of experts expect) would cause you to cancel, please do so now to give us time to rebook your spot.
