Option to participate in an upcoming study. The information is copied below in quotations: "We would like to invite you to participate in two interviews for the study, How Do Emotions and Gender Shape Healthcare Providers’ Understandings of Vaccination During Pregnancy? As a healthcare provider, you navigate various information sources to inform medical decisions at critical moments in people’s lives. Decisions in those moments are influenced by evidence, culture, and emo...tional responses. Sharing your experience in providing care for pregnant Canadians could advance knowledge about how healthcare providers navigate evidence, culture, and emotion in their daily practice. This study investigates how healthcare providers’ understandings of vaccination in pregnancy may be influenced by cultural content, such as shared emotions, ideas about gender, and other social categories (e.g., ethnicity, age). The approach to this study is qualitative, meaning that during the interviews, you may answer questions in your own words. Findings will be used to improve how information about vaccination during pregnancy is communicated to healthcare providers. Each interview will last approximately 25-35 minutes and may be shorter or longer depending on your answers and availability. The interviews can be scheduled at times that are convenient for you. Most interviews will be over the phone or video technology. With your permission, interviews will be audio-recorded. The principal investigator (Terra Manca) is an IWK Health Centre Postdoctoral Fellow in Halifax." Please contact Terra Manca ([email protected]) to schedule an interview, get more information, or ask questions about this study.
