SALVADOR DALI (sculpture) Adam and Eve Medium: Bronze Height: 20.5" (52 cm)... Technique: Lost wax process Patina: Green/black Edition size: 350+35 EA Year: Conceived in 1968 First Cast: 1984 References: Descharnes, Dali: The Hard and the Soft, Sculptures & Objects. Eccart, 2004. Pg. 254 ref. 654 In one exquisite artwork, Dalí deftly portrays the Garden of Eden: Adam, Eve, and the serpent, as well as the intricate tension between the three. The artist captures the very moment Eve offers Adam the forbidden fruit - astonished, Adam raises his hand in indecision, unsure of their fate should he relinquish himself to the enticing temptation. In an attempt to comfort the doomed couple, aware of the heartache that lies ahead, the serpent coils himself in the shape of a heart, reminding Adam and Eve that love creates a whole which is greater than the sum of its individual parts. http://chalirosso.com/dali-sculpture-collect/collection//25

Richard Forbes Mask Hand cast bronze sculpture using the lost wax method... RICHARD FORBES Richard was born to a military family in Cambridge, England in 1956. He traveled with his family extensively throughout Europe and the Middle East before moving to Canada in 1967. Richard first studied at the Alberta College of Art in Calgary in 1977. In 1985 he moved to Vancouver and attended Emily Carr College of Art and design from 1985 to 1989. Forbes has been working locally as a sculptor for the past 25 years. He lives and works in Langley, BC, where he owns and operates Forbes Foundry, a bronze foundry, located in a converted church just off Highway 1. Richard is one of the very few artists still using the lost wax process, which takes the original clay model to finished bronze, in studio. Lost wax process is an antique method of casting bronze sculptures. From the model, a mold is made and the cavity is filled with wax. By the heat the wax gets melted away leaving a hollow mold, hence the term ‘lost wax’ or ‘cire perdue’. The lost wax process is considered the highest quality method of creating bronze sculpture.

Jace Jungguy Kim I AM the Drug (2020) Oil on wood panel A unique work... About the artist: Jace is a Canadian painter currently based in Vancouver, BC. He was born and raised in Korea where he was highly influenced by comic book art until the age of 15. He graduated from Emily Carr University of Art and Design with a bachelor’s degree in Media art (animation) with the passion of animator. He worked in various game and motion graphic companies as a digital artist but he made a drastic transition to become a traditional painter. Creating the most of the tension between the figurative and the abstract, his expression on canvas arises from the meeting and combination of various artistic materials; oil, acrylic, ink, spray paint and so on. An abstract chaos capable of giving rise to an emotional overlap plays as a background to the purity and refinement of the portraiture depicted with both obsessive and expressive brush strokes. He wishes to continuously grow as a contemporary artist with his distinctive ambidextrous style and techniques. His left hand is masculine and expressive, opposing to his right that is feminine and articulated. When he uses them simultaneously he becomes most sensitively concentrated within the struggle and harmony of being in-between.
