The Technology for Sustainable Water Resource Governance project has put technology in the hands of Community Water Committees (CWCs). Communications technology allows CWCs to communicate with each other, forming a network and a collective body. Together, they are stronger, and can collaborate to conserve the watershed basin, to address issues and advocate at the municipal level, to support each other in maintenance activities, and to ensure purity of water for their communities. (With funding support from Canada’s International Development Global Affairs Canada)

Change for Children is championing efforts to increase the accessibility of mother tongue-based multilingual education in the BOSAWAS, Nicaragua. Digital libraries and educational materials in the mother tongue of Miskito are now available in the four largest communities along the Rio Coco. In March, with the support of 60 millions de filles / 60 million girls and loyal CFC donors, we are expanding our Technology for Quality Education project to 3 more communities! #InternationalMotherLanguageDay With over 6,000 languages spoken in the world (43% of which are endangered), only a few hundred languages have genuinely been given a place in education systems and the public domain. Less than one hundred are used in the digital world.

According to the UN, poor quality education is the result of a lack of adequately trained teachers, poor conditions of schools and equity issues related to oppo...rtunities provided to rural and remote children. Change for Children Association is testing a technology-enabled, innovative, off-line training program and digital resource base in remote Indigenous communities of Nicaragua with the goal of improving teacher capacity, providing quality educational resources and promoting gender equality. This digital tool not only gives teachers unprecedented access to culturally and linguistically appropriate educational content, it also allows them to improve their pedagogy and gender knowledge through online training and develop digital literacy and skills.
