Time-Of-Use (TOU) Customer Choice Choosing Your Electricity Price Plan If you are a residential or small business customer that pays Time-of-Use (TOU) electricity prices, you can choose to switch to Tiered prices beginning November 1, 2020.... With TOU, the price you pay depends on when you use electricity. With Tiered prices, you can use a certain amount of electricity each month at a lower price. Once that limit is exceeded, a higher price applies. If you want to continue paying TOU prices, no action is required. If you would like to learn more about your pricing options, visit www.oeb.ca/choice. To switch from TOU to Tiered prices, you must notify us by completing an election form. We will begin accepting election forms on October 13, 2020. There is no deadline. You can ask to switch at any time. Election forms are available on our website or by emailing [email protected]. http://www.chapleau.ca//TimeOfUseTOUCustomerChoiceChoosing
Ontario Energy Board sets new electricity prices for households and small businesses https://www.oeb.ca//ontario-energy-board-sets-new-electric
Thank you for your patience. The majority of town has power restored with the remaining sections to be up within the hour.
We apologize for the delay. They're still working hard out there!
We're accepting applications for the COVID-19 Energy Assistance Program and the COVID-19 Energy Assistance Program for Small Business. These initiatives were launched by the Government of Ontario and make funding available for residential customers, small businesses, and registered charitable organizations to help pay their energy bills. CEAP provides a one time, on-bill credit to eligible residential electricity customers up to a maximum of $115; however, if the home is heat...ed primarily by electricity or an energy intensive medical device is used in the residence then the customer could be eligible for a credit up to a maximum of $230. CEAP-SB provides a one time, on-bill credit to eligible small businesses and registered charities up to a maximum of $850 for those who primarily use electricity for heating, or up to $425 if electricity is not their main heat source. Click below for more details and eligibilty. https://www.oeb.ca/rate/covid-19-energy-assistance-programs
We are aware of a power outage affecting some of our customers and are out investigating.
OEB looking for input on tiered electricity pricing The Ontario Energy Board is looking for input as they develop rules to allow electricity customers to opt out of time-of-use pricing in favour of tiered pricing on November 1st. The OEB says under tiered prices, a customer can use a certain amount of electricity each month at a lower price.... Once that limit is exceeded, the price goes up. Time-of-use offers different rates for different parts of the day, with cheaper rates during mid and off-peak times. Officials say tiered pricing gives consumers the flexibility to use electricity at any time of day at a fixed price while still encouraging conservation. Right now the fixed COVID-19 Recovery Rate is in place until October 31st. You can find the OEB survey HERE: https://t.co/j2OHQm7WQd?amp=1
Power is restored. If you're still having issues please call 705-864-0111.
In order to perform repairs, all customers from NAPA to the OPP station will experience a power outage for approximately 30 minutes. We apologize for the inconvenience.
We are aware of the outage that may be affecting some of our customers along the highway. Crew is investigating.
