As many of you are already aware, the Provincial government has already indicated its support, in principle, for a rural transit system in Charlotte County. Thi...s Provincial funding will be lost, however, if we cannot gain Federal support. As Federal transit funding is still focused on large urban areas, we have a very short time to convince key decision makers that rural areas like ours deserve a fair shake. If we can relay a message of very strong support through our Member of Parliament, Karen Ludwig, she will be better positioned to persuade key decision-makers in Ottawa that this is a worthwhile project.
