This young fabulous Momma did a home bleach and retone (left). I did a partial foil to lighten and did a golden brown over the rest of the hair. We did a good trim as the ends were quite damaged after all the chemical processing. Home care would include a sulfate free/colour safe shampoo, dry shampoo and hair gloss. This girly had loooonnng hair that she had box dyed brown over blonde highlights. She admitted that she mixed the second box wrong, adding the conditioner into the colour instead of the developer, producing uneven results that washed out quickly (right picture). I isolated foils and added lightener then covered the remaining hair with chocolate brown. The lighting in my salon is quite warm. I always encourage my clients to view their finished look under variable light conditions before judging if the colour is right. I had trouble lifting this level 4 coloured hair light enough to break the carmel zone. High volume lightener and extra time on prelightened hair was the formula to lift this clients hair to the level of brightness she wanted to see.
