Sunny Days Child Care

We will have a permanent part time space available in January (Monday, Tuesday and Friday). This space will become available full time in September 2021. Hours are 7:30-5:15. Located 5 minutes from the 401 (at Montreal st. or Division st.) Please pm for more info if interested.

In March our theme was St. Patrick's Day. We did lots of baking, science and art, including fizzy pots of gold, rainbow toast, rainbow flowers, tissue paper colour mixing on the light table, and ice cube colour mixing. We hunted for leprechaun coins, had lots of fun outside and enjoyed library trips. The last half of March we stayed at our own homes because of COVID-19.

In February our themes were Valentine's Day and Dr. Seuss. We did lots of art, baking, songs and stories. We had homemade pizza day with heart shaped pizzas that we got to pick our favourite toppings, and we enjoyed pancakes and sausages for Pancake Tuesday.

Our theme in January was "Winter". We had lots of fun playing in the snow and going for rides in the sled. We made snow taffy and blizzard cookies. Our sensory bin was lots of fun building snowman out of styrofoam balls and scooping up tiny little styrofoam pieces. Our light table was also lots of fun with different activities on it. We experimented with Ivory soap in the microwave and had fun playing with it all puffed up. We did lots of winter art, songs, and stories as well.

We had lots of activities to keep us busy July-December. Our themes included INSECTS & BUGS, UNDER THE SEA, APPLES, FALL, THANKSGIVING, BEARS, HALLOWEEN, and CHRISTMAS. We went on bus rides, ferry rides, trips to the library, splash park, explored lots of different parks and had fun in our play-yard. We experimented with different textures, magnets and did lots of baking. We went on bug hunts with magnifying glasses and bear hunts with binoculars. We had parachute fu...n, bounce castle fun and made lots of forts where we loved playing with flashlights inside. We played in leaves, had fun sorting with our acorn alphabet, and had silly string fun. We painted snow, had an indoor teddy bear picnic and enjoyed rides in the sled. We did lots of crafts, games songs and stories. Each month we made a picture to make a 2020 calendar as our Christmas gifts to mommy and daddy. We're looking forward to another great year in 2020! We had a very busy Winter and Spring with so many different themes, crafts, activities and outings!

In December our themes were "Gingerbread men" and "Christmas". We had fun playing, singing and doing lots of crafts. We did lots of baking projects as a part of our Christmas gifts and enjoyed popping lots of bubble wrap. We went on a special trip to visit Santa at the mall, where we got our picture taken together as a part of our Christmas gifts to parents.

During the month of November we did a "Germ" theme and an "Around the World" theme, where we "traveled" to England, China, Guatemala, and Italy. We tried foods from each of the counties, enjoyed making crafts and having an English tea party. We also enjoyed playgroup, playing in the snow, puzzles, playing in the ball pit, baking, and lots of songs and stories.

During the month of October our themes were: Thanksgiving, Fall, and Hallowe'en. We visited playgroup, the library, and we enjoyed walks in the neighbourhood to see the leaves changing colours. We had fun with leaves inside and outside, played at the park and in the play yard, and we did lots of art, sang songs, had fun with science experiments and carved pumpkins.

During the month of September we did an apple theme. We made yummy treats like apple muffins, mini apple pies and apple crisp. We visited the library and parks. We did lots of art projects, had fun with magnetic wands in our sensory table, sang apple songs and read apple books, and we did lots of fun activities focusing on the colours yellow, red and green.
