TIP TUESDAY!! Squat like it’s HOT! Everyone is different ... mobility, flexibility, even bone structure. ... A proper parallel squat requires exponentially greater tightness, muscle activation, mental focus, and neural recruitment compared to any ATG squat (ass to grass). I actually don't coach individuals to squat to a specific depth such as parallel (especially right away). I try to teach them how to maintain proper stability, posture, tightness, spinal alignment, and body mechanics, and then advise them to stop at the deepest possible position they can descend to while maintaining these characteristics. Some can go below parallel with a front load squat and some can’t. Some can go below parallel with a back squat. Either way... be true to your squat. Don’t compromise form. And PS trainers.... don’t you ever compromise your clients form. Go for it.... In today’s world we are constantly being bombarded With information on fitness and nutrition. However these things I know for certain. I don’t claim to do things 100%. I don’t claim to know it all. I just know for certain we need to move our bodies or they won’t work for us in the long run. And I’m not talking about going for a run, or doing CrossFit or doing something that doesn’t serve you. Walk, swim, bike with kids, play, laugh. I also know for certain that you canno...t over eat and put garbage into your body. Again I don’t claim to be 100% but when I think of food I think of nutrition and how I can fuel my body for what I do during the week. So here are my tips you can do starting today! You must track. I’m telling you For someone who knows about nutrition sometimes when I have to dial it in I begin tracking my food and I realize that for me I could be over eating or maybe not getting the certain nutrients I need during the day. Trust me.... everything adds up. Try tracking for a week. LIMIT JUNK: Foods low in nutrient density are as useless as it gets. Think about how something you consume will serve you. Is what you are eating helping heal you, fuel you ? Or is it going to hurt you? Again, I’m not always 100%. But majority of the time I’ll use food as fuel and nutrients. Try picking one thing to change during the day. Focus on that. Maybe it’s protein for breakfast .. maybe it’s not eating a bag of chips at night and replacing it with a shake. Change one thing. MOVE !!!! Just move ! Find a friend, a group of people who can support you. Who have similar goals. Who will lift you up. Who will encourage you, inspire you, support your journey, help chase your dreams, who will not judge you ... even if you fall down. We have this with Choice Fitness. I am not my weight.. I am not a number on the scale. That won’t define me. That won’t drive me to be healthy... if I focus on that number it will drive me to be a bit insane, ... come on, we know the number drives us crazy a bit, right ?? I mean it fluctuates throughout the day. I AM INTERESTED IN HOW I FEEL. Being strong as F’ck. How I feel in my clothes is what I am interested in. Feeling good in my skin (I never new what that meant until I hit peri-menopause). Ha...ving the energy to keep up to all my clients who are so strong and fast , wanting to make sure I can keep up to my kids and now grandkids (one day). I want to be healthy and strong ! Knowing that food is both fuel and comfort and not an adversary.... I won’t look at food negatively. It’s what will keep me going, keep me healthy, keep me happy, keep me regular and it’s so important to keep that balance in my life so I stay sane. We make choices ... we make bad ones and good ones. As long as you know you are being the healthiest version of yourself .

Are you motivated to do online classes ? So now that we’re social distancing and fitness studios are closed or we aren’t comfortable going into our favourite studio or gym, we’ve been forced to get creative with how we move our bodies. And I appreciate how the fitness industry has embraced technology and social media to make their brands and instructors more accessible. But .... we know it’s JUST NOT THE SAME as being face to face with your trainer or instructor. Sure we ca...n get on Zoom however it’s easy to close the computer up or walk away from the screen when we are getting tired . Or even worse, you are doing live streaming workouts on Facebook or Instagram where your Trainer can’t even see you! The virtual High fives into a camera just aren’t the same. Few things you can do - especially with my live classes. 1. Reach out to your trainer and let them know you are struggling - make sure your trainer can see you!! So yes, be on zoom. 2. Pencil your workouts in like you would a doctors appointment. 3. Find your reason WHY....if it’s big enough you will be successful

Not getting the results you'd like from your workout routine? If it’s important to you ... you will do it! My BIGGEST TIP as a trainer is this.....Make sure you STICK TO IT. COMMITMENT PERSEVERANCE That’s what this beautiful lady has. It wasn’t me who did this, it was all her and her commitment to her goals. It’s taken her a year to get here but this is the healthy way. ... The problem is, some people begin a ‘weight loss’ program (nutrition and a exercise routine) and if the results don’t happen fast, the tendency is to quite, because you get frustrated and think you’ve failed (once again), am I right ??? Then 6 months or a year later you try again and you do something crazy like a bone broth diet or keto... completely restrict and starve yourself. Dang girl... that’s how you lose weight right ??? Sure it is, you aren’t eating of course you’ll lose weight. But guess what ??....you can’t keep it up you fool The cycle begins all over again and again and again. Stop it!!!! Just be consistent everyone !!! Don’t quite when the going gets rough. Because it will! You need to give yourself patience... love and respect. When people say they hate calorie counting, its tedious, time consuming, obsessiveetc I ask them this - what do you hate more? Having pants that do not fit well, out of breath because you are carrying a few extra pounds, low energy? If it is important to you ... you’ll change it. You’ll do something about it. You need to have some idea of the food you consume during the day ! This isn’t rocket science people. If you were to plan a wedding you’d research venues, make... lists, budget etc. You also need to do lists, and plan for your nutrition. Does it have to be for the rest of your life??? Absolutely not. However you’ll need to spend some time so you understand where you are going wrong during the day, where you have the most energy or when you have cravings. JOURNAL!!! There are also so many apps out there to guide you. If you need more info or help with your nutrition message me and let’s get you on the right track. My message comes from love. It may come out a bit harsh, but if you know me personally, you already know my approach is often less than delicate. There is no time to beat around the bush - get your life back! Learn what foods are maybe not working towards your health goals and get in control. KNOWLEDGE IS ALWAYS POWER! Here is what I eat in one day - (some Days differ depending on what I do for exercise) Morning 3 eggs (2 whites 1 whole) 1 slice silver hills power bread 1 T’s peanut butter 1 tap olive oil Calories - 306 Protein : 18 Fat:17 Carbs: 15 Snack RX bar 220 cal Protein- 12 grams Carbs- 22 grams Fat- 10 grams Lunch Chicken salad Romaine with 6oz chicken breast cooked on bbq with balsamic and olive oil sliced avacado and Italian dressing Calories - 406 Protein : 23 grams Fat: 22 grams Carbs- 24 grams Protein shake 5 strawberries 1/2 blueberries 1 cup almond milk 1 scoopVanilla protein powder 250 calories Protein - 20grams Carbs- 10grams DINNER: 6 oz Atlantic Salmon 1/2c White Rice BBQ Roasted Asparagus Total Calories 535 34g Protein 28g - Carbs 25g Fat Total calorie - 1717 Calories and Protein are the 2 things I recommend you pay attention to. If your Protein is where is should be, your fats and carbs just balance themselves out. Again you need to have an idea because if you don’t you can’t change it.

I hope you are all having a great summer and staying safe and healthy! I’ve been a bit more active on my Instagram and my online group page the past few months because of Covid and what’s been happening with all the new restrictions. I’ve been working hard and adapting to this new reality. I don’t know if we will ever go back to normal. ... I personally think right now, being safe and taking the precautions is necessary for all of us to stay healthy and fit. ‘What you eat is so important to support your immunity and stay healthy during the coronavirus epidemic. But it might surprise you to learn that there is another way to boost your immunity to infections like COVID-19: EXERCISE’. Harvard Health I know so many of you are nervous about being out in gyms or studios right now and it’s understandable! That’s why I’m offering some outdoor classes starting next week. The outdoor classes will be in Lake Chaparral- Monday’s 6:30pm Full Body Functional Strength Wednesday 6:30-Booty Sculpt + Abs Thursday or Saturday (we may mix it up) Full Body 6:30pm I have a couple options also for you to choose : 1. All Access Pass: $120.00 - This includes 3 classes in a small group training environment for 4 weeks outdoors (Monday / Tuesday Thursdays or Sat 6:30pm). You’ll also get invited to a private Facebook group where I’ve created this community / Tribe of beautiful woman who do online classes every morning. You definitely can join in with those workouts in the morning if you want more workouts. Online we also have our Yoga teacher who does classes LIVE. You also get to do a body analysis testing with me (which is usually $50). So this is a flipping awesome deal! Option 2: $80month This gets you online classes only !! These happen every morning on the private FB group which I do monday- Friday at 9:15am. Without doubt this is a stressful time. Many lives are being lost, and many more livelihoods affected. ... A certain level of anxiety right now is absolutely normal. In fact I would be more concerned with the people who have none, than the people who have some. However, when some becomes a lot and and all of the time, then it can become overwhelming. A very useful and practical tip for dealing with stress and anxiety is when you feel it coming on is the ,,,, , where you look for: - 5 things you can see - 4 things you can touch - 3 things you can hear - 2 things you can smell - 1 thing you can taste. This process brings your focus in to the present and to your surroundings. Neurologically this activity activates your pre frontal cortex, the part of your brain involved with rational decision making.
