Children really are amazing. I teach so many music classes in the span of a week that I sometimes forget that music class for most doesn’t just stop when families leave our learning studio. We’ve worked very hard to create something that no one can replicate even if they tried. And we’re quite strong in our feelings that it’s because the families that attend truly are part of what makes the magic happen. We love this shared video of ‘E’ age 22 months singing one of our songs top to bottom. She memorized the tea song in such a sweet fashion we couldn’t help but share it P.S. We say EVERYTHING - music fills the room, gentle whispers of ideas and curiosities fill the air, still moments of wonderful quiet purposeful play unfolds. There is so much happening. And with each new child and family to walk through the door, we are proud to say we welcome everyone where they are. It takes time to settle in to such a space sometimes. Family time, and time for fostering new relationships. This is largely what brings me joy in each class. I watch quiet moments as they unfold, and also the organized chaos that sometimes happens. F I V E to celebrate the upcoming 5th year of our magic place, we asked @spencerpidgeon to illustrate a lil’ something for us. It’s always special describing our space to people who have never been. He did great! We love the feel and the flow of this beautiful art and are happy that has a way of representing what and who we are. A place for families. R was so proud of her artwork this morning and she wanted to show H! Walking so carefully across the room, she brought her masterpiece over and smiled so big when H responded to her art! It’s so sweet to see when they take pride in their work Although our classes may be smaller now, it provides an opportunity for our friends to really connect with one another, share their work and ideas and create friendships! We are really enjoying these intimate classes and the relationships that are forming Pre-registration is now open - if you are currently in this semester, you’ll be receiving your codes! L has been coming since she was 6 months old ~ so quiet and still but very engaged with the felt story.She was matching and laying felt pieces in the book itself.Amazing!

Through music and art invitations, we can see a light being ignited in some children. Something that can be overlooked easily in our hurried lives as parents and educators. I have always believed that in promoting play through art and music that we are doing right by them. Children have so much to gain from open ended creative experiences like music and art. They can engage with their art and express feelings that we would never hear about or see. If you attend any of my... classes or Shauna’ classes we will always be on our soap boxes when it comes to children and their processing. Watching ‘A’ age 4 immersed in her work inspired me to slow down and really appreciate the time we have together in our very small classes these days. It’s so special.
