DAY 11 // IN THANKSGIVING Even in these times, we see glimmers of your kingdom breaking through in our world. Thank you for the small moments of peace, of love, of joy, of hope. Give us our daily bread. Feed us with your love and the beauty of your creation.

DAY 10 // IN LAMENT We cry out to you, O Lord, to repair our world. We cannot see our loved ones. We cannot play with our friends. Christmas won’t be the same this year.... We read of death and upheaval daily. When we cannot see the way forward, help us to trust your guidance in the darkness.

DAY 9 // FOR THE HOMELESS As we retreat to the safety of our homes, we pray for those who do not have homes, or whose homes are places of violence or fear. Shelter them under your wings and bring them to safety. Strengthen all front line workers who support those most at risk. We pray specifically for Mustard Seed, ICPM, Hope Mission, E4C and the Bissell Centre.

DAY 8 // FOR CHURCHES As churches are called to be beacons of light and hope in these uncertain times, strengthen all who serve in the leadership of your church. Give them creative and compassionate hearts to love your people, and help them share your love in new ways.

DAY 7 // FOR THE ISOLATED God, you have made us to love one another. Today we particularly pray for those who are isolated from those whom they love, and those whose loneliness is particularly heavy at this time. Remind them of their place in your family and prompt us to reach out in safe and meaningful ways.

The stations are set.... join us for a self guided time of prayer in the garden this evening (6 to 8pm) or tomorrow morning (10am to noon).

We pray this week for students, teachers and parents as they begin a new school year. God of wisdom and might, we praise you for the wonder of our being, for mind, body and spirit.... Be with our children as they begin a new school year. Bless them and their teachers and staff. Give the strength and grace as their bodies grow; wisdom and knowledge to their minds as they search for understanding; and peace and zeal to their hearts. We as this though Jesus Christ our Lord. The garden was transformed this evening by the beautiful violin music performed by Maya Rathnavalu.

The garden at Christ Church is a great place to learn about the Parable of the Sower and the Seed. Much fun at Messy Summer tonight.

Join us tonight for Garden Church. Kids bring you parents and families at 6pm for some socially distanced activities and crafts at Messy Summer. At 7pm we welcome violinist, Maya Rathnavalu who will be performing a socially distanced concert for us followed by evening Vespers. Looking forward to seeing you there.

The church is open for quiet prayer and reflection. Clergy is here to visit and pray. Come sit awhile.

Join us this evening for Garden Church: kids, bring you parents at 6pm for socially distanced fun and games about the Parable of the Prodigal Son; starting at 7pm we will enjoy the music by Ian Bowden and band from Spruce Grove; and at around 8pm we will close the night with Vespers. Our Wednesday crew!! The laughter and friendliness from this group over the last month has been contagious. May the love you put into these meals nourish the bodies that receive them!

Our volunteer team is at the church preparing the last meal of our school lunch project. Over the month of June we have, with love and generosity, prepared 500 meals a week for low income families in three inner city schools. We couldn't have done this without our dedicated volunteers and the prayerful and financial support from those who weren't able to be here "in person." It has been a blessing to be able to care for those in need during this time of isolation and uncertainty. Thank you to everyone involved for your care and hospitality.

It's our last week for our school lunch project and we found so many goodies for our families this week! What a blessing this ministry has been for our community. Please join us in praying for young families in our city. That they may have a safe and fun summer.

Archbishop of York John Sentamu lays down his crozier on the high altar at York Minster. Archbishop Sentamu visited the diocese in 2013 as we celebrated our diocesan centennial. Some of our very own Christ Church members were privileged to have met him on this 10 day visit.
