We are long overdue for the latest ‘meet our team’ post! Today we have.... Lindsay! Lindsay is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (Registration #009487) who joined CCO in July 2020 after completing an internship with us in 2019-2020. She completed her undergrad at the University of Waterloo and her Masters, Counselling and Spirituality at Saint Paul University. Sometimes we just need a listening ear. Someone wh...o will help us make sense of our experiences. Whether it is a life transition, such as parenting, a change in relationship status, a profound loss, or an unexpected roadblock, taking the time to make sense of our experiences gives the tools needed to walk forward with confidence and grace. Working from a person-centred approach Lindsay works with anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, loss, life transitions, premarital work, parenting, attachment, family dynamics and more. Within the safe space of the therapeutic relationship, Lindsay will support you as you come to understand why you might do some of things you do, adjust where needed and work towards transformation. We have started seeing some clients in the office and are still available via the Zoom healthcare platform. It’s time to share some info about another of the amazing psychotherapists on our team! Jennifer is a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (Registration Number 006484). She holds a M.Sc. in Counselling from Lubbock Christian University in Lubbock, Texas, and has received additional training in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy ...at the Beck Institute. She has completed Phase 2 training in Brainspotting, an attachment and mindfulness-based approach to treating trauma. Jennifer works with individual adults who struggle with various issues including trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, burnout, anger, life transitions, relationships, and spirituality. We are shaking it up this time. Rather than introducing one of our phenomenal team of therapists, we would like to highlight our amazing staff. Today, meet our Executive Director, Linda J. Colwell Upon retirement from the Canadian Armed Forces, Linda decided the best way to continue to serve was to become a volunteer. Since becoming CCO’s volunteer Executive Director, she has implemented a number of initiatives aimed at ensuring the organization stays focused on its ministry ...and service and is attuned to finding the resources and efficiencies needed to ensure longer term sustainability. In addition to her work with CCO, she uses her knowledge of governance, her experience and her energy as she serves on a number of charities and not-for-profits’ Boards of Directors. She earned a Bachelor of Science from Mount Allison University and a Masters of Business Administration from Western. Let’s meet another member of the CCO team! Brandi is a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (Registration # 008299). She joined CCO in May 2019 and works with individuals, couples and families, including providing supportive counselling for children, adolescents and adults. She holds a Social Service Worker diploma from Algonquin College, an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Human Relations and Spirituality and a Master of Arts in Co...unselling and Spirituality from Saint Paul University. She recently completed Brainspotting Phase 1 & 2, a brain-body based treatment used to process and release stored traumas underlying a wide range of emotional and physical problems, as well as Attachment Focused Brainspotting with children. She works with anxiety, depression, stress, grief, anger, low self-esteem, family of origin issues, relationship conflict, spiritual struggles, personality and mood disorders. Brandi uses many creative therapy techniques to access parts of self which have yet to be heard. She favours a holistic approach, which includes the mind, body and spirit of a person, as well as the close relationships, environment, community and culture they are apart of. She believes every human being has within them the power to change and to self-actualize. She has worked as a youth facilitator and as a counsellor for people with disabilities. She has experience with complex grief in children, youth and adults, as well as intimate partner violence and anger management.
