HEY FAM! Thanks for all the love and support as we go through this challenging time. Our team member is recovering well and with no other positive tests thus far, we’re working hard to get our restaurant ready to go to safely welcome you back to Chubby’s in the coming days - we miss you We thought you might be missing the Chubby’s vibes so while we have not reopened our doors just yet, we wanted to give you the next best thing. A few weeks ago, we partnered with @torontolif...e & @stellaartois for their series Chef Artois. In the third episode, our very own Chef @dadriancoke will judge two home cooks as they go head-to-head to recreate a Chubby’s twist on the traditional Jamaican dish, Ackee and Saltfish. We debated posting about this as we are taking the COVID-19 situation very seriously. However, we thought even through one of the hardest times for our business, there’s always something to celebrate and be grateful for. We loved being a part of this show and hope you find some joy in this episode too.

To our Chubby’s Fam, During these challenging times, we believe transparency is the only way forward. We are saddened to announce that one of our team members at Chubby’s has tested positive for COVID-19. This team member, who’s last shift at Chubby’s wasThursday, September 17th, went to get tested out as a precaution and is currently quarantined at home. While not mandatory, we have immediately closed our restaurant until further notice as our guest and team member safet...y will always be number one. During this time, we are taking the following action: Chubby’s will be professionally sanitized to eradicate the possibility of any surface contamination The full team at Chubby’s is in self-isolation and will be required to get tested for COVID-19. A clean bill of health will be required before returning to work. Contact tracing details have been shared with Public Health and those present while this team member was working will be contacted.It is highly recommended that you download the Covid Alert app if you have not already done so. All reservations for thefewdays will be rescheduled or canceled We are optimistic that this is an isolated case as no other team members are experiencing symptoms and rigorous sanitation, social distancing, and mask-wearing procedures were followed. We will only reopen when we feel it is safe to do so and only with team members who have tested negative.
