Western Alliance is an international corporation with multiple business divisions that needed uniformity. Looking to create an established look with a solid foundation, while still differentiating the divisions, we created the W icon with the Western tip color coded to reflect the businesses. The W is further reinforced through or type play in the name. With Terrabone we developed the grid-based graphic layout to incorporate playful line-art illustrations of San Francisco’s culture and charm, but from a dog’s perspective. The custom letterform logo, as one of the few typographic elements on the packaging, stands out quite well and complements the line-art illustration approach.
