Thank you so much to those who have already generously donated to the Salvation Army's Food Bank Upgrade project. Please note that we will accept cash, cheque or debit donations, but unfortunately cannot accept credit cards. Your kindness is much appreciated! See below for original post: The City and Northern Savings Credit Union are supporting the efforts of the local PRINCE RUPERT SALVATION ARMY to raise funds to renovate and connect their food bank on Fraser Street to the...ir Grenville Court location with a fundraising meter that has now been installed on the outside of City Hall, signage generously donated by Northern Savings. Through the Community Enhancement Grant process, the City is providing $15,000 towards this $95,000 project, and are looking to help rally funds and support for the remaining $80,000 needed to complete the work. Donations towards the Food Bank Upgrade project can be made at the front desk of City Hall, with receipts provided to donors by the Salvation Army. Please note that although drop ins at City Hall are accommodated, due to limited access to the customer service area, to ensure timely service it is recommended to book an appointment by calling (250) 627 0934. Thank you in advance to those willing/able to provide your support to this important project which will enable the Salvation Army to continue to provide critical programming to the many in need in our community. The City is so grateful for the continued support of Gas Tax funding from Infrastructure Canada - English and The Federal Gas Tax Fund in British Columbia, which has helped us fund numerous key infrastructure improvements. In 2020 - these funds were used to help fund new boilers at our Recreation Complex, and a new leachate lagoon at our landfill. #federalGTF #GasTaxFundinBC See full release, below, for details : PRESS RELEASE...Continue reading
