The Mayor noted voter turnout in the recent by-election was approximately 15% of the electorate. Congratulations to Tim Palmer on winning a seat on Council! Covid-19 is still impacting the City. Citizens are urged to work together to follow the rules, keep the numbers down, people safe and our business open. Snow crews will be out. Please clear in front of your homes and business. A new bylaw is in place to address snow being put in the roadway.
We're hiring! The City of Revelstoke invites applications for the position of Clerical - Casual Relief for various departments. Apply by 4:30pm - Friday March 12, 2021. More details: www.revelstoke.ca/jobs #cityofrevelstoke #revelstokejobs #revelstokeemployment
Public Works' Winter Reminders: Shoveling & Sidewalk Clearing - Placing snow on the travelled portion of the roadway is not permitted under the City's Traffic and Highways Bylaw and is a ticketable offense. This regulation helps to ensure potentially dangerous situations for motorists are avoided. And please remember, residents and business owners are responsible for keeping the sidewalks clear of snow and ice (pursuant to Bylaw #1400, 1992). City staff aim to assist as much as possible and grit boxes are available in the downtown area for public use. As winter continues, the City appreciates the community's involvement in "Knowing the Snow" and supporting the snow removal process. Stay warm, healthy and safe! If you haven't yet, please remember to complete the Community Well-Being survey for residents - being conducted by the Recovery Task Force. The survey is completely anonymous and confidential. It is important for the RTF to understand how the COVID-19 pandemic has effected residents to help focus efforts on specific recovery needs. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/revelstokewellbeing - please share.
