Spice and Howie owner passed away. While animals don’t grieve the way people do, they’re still emotional creatures who have a keen insight when something in their world is not, right. If an animal’s human companion suddenly disappears, it can be confusing, and can even lead to depression. Spice and Howie are currently with a CK Animal Rescue foster family. When animals are in our foster program, they’re able to enjoy a more relaxing environment while getting the one-on-one... attention they need. This can be especially helpful for animals who have lost their owners. Are you interested in fostering an animal with the CK Animal Rescue? We accept applications from Chatham Kent. Clark and Harper were abandoned in a box with two deceased kittens. Their sweet faces show their resiliency, and their cuddles will melt your heart. Sadly these stories are all too common. On December 1st, Giving Tuesday Canada please consider helping us to help these little ones get a fresh start on life <3 #givingtuesday #Ckanimalresuce

I want all of my tomorrows to be with you. Meet Tut! This handsome guy is so friendly and loveable. He loves to play with his siblings and is not choosy about his toys! Tut would be happy to join a home with another friendly cat or kitten he can befriend. Tut is neutered and is up to date with vaccinations. Double the love! Getting two cats means double the love. Yeah, it can be a little more responsibility initially, but the affection you (and they) receive is well worth it. If you’re in the market for a new pet, consider two: you’ll be so happy you did! To adopt Stripes ans Precious click here: https://ckanimalrescue.com/pets/

Foster pets make great houseguests. Adopting a pet is a big decision. If you’re not sure you’re ready to take that next step, fostering is a great way to test the waters. You’ll gain experience caring for a pet, so that when it’s time for you to adopt, you’ll do so with confidence. Russy has been patiently waiting for a year for his love connection to happen...and it did! This boy was worth the wait for his new family, they loved him the minute they met him. And the feeling was mutual. Russy checked out every inch of his new yard and home and gave it his paw of approval! His new dad opened several doors to cabinets to show Russy what was inside. No stone left unturned for this boy! He is going to get plenty of cuddling and lots of lovin' for the rest of his life. We are all so happy for Russy! We look forward to updates and wish him a long happy life!

No home is complete without the pitter patter of kitty feet. Meet Tinkerbell! This beautiful girl is around two years old and is looking for a special adopter. Tinkerbell was brought to CKAR as a pregnant stray and was able to have her babies in the safety of her foster home. She was wonderful mom and has watched many of her babies get adopted. Now it’s her turn! Coming in as a stray from unknown circumstances, Tinkerbell is a nervous, shy cat, and would do best in a quiet h...ome with another cat or by herself. She is looking for a very patient family that is willing to give her time to come out of her shell, which may take some time. She has come around with her foster family, but it has taken a lot of patience and love. She is a cat who likes to be around and to be pet, but she doesn’t enjoy being picked up - she prefers affection on her own terms so she can make sure she’s comfortable. Tinkerbell needs a family that can look past her shyness, help her gain confidence, and see the wonderful kitty she is. Adopting a cat like Tinkerbell is so rewarding when you see how far love and patience can go in making them know they’re safe and loved. Tinkerbell is spayed and up to date with vaccinations. If you are interested in adopting Tinkerbell, please submit the Adoption Application click here: https://ckanimalrescue.com/pets/ Adoption fee: $125.00

I love you meow and furever. Meet Charlie! Found as a lone kitten tossed into the rescue’s yard, Charlie is the sweetest little guy who loves life and is so thankful to have been rescued. He is a super loving and affectionate kitten who loves nothing more than to cuddle up with his foster family. Charlie loves to play with other cats (and dog tails) and pretty much anything he can bat around. He enjoys being around his foster family and is often found snuggling with the o...ther pets, both cats and dogs. Charlie would be a great addition to any home. He would be happiest being adopted into a home with another cat he can play with, and would be happy with children or a friendly dog. Charlie’s neuter will be paid for by CKAR when he is old enough. He is up to date with vaccinations. Approximate date of birth: June 15, 2020 If you are interested in adopting Charlie, please submit the Adoption Application click here: https://ckanimalrescue.com/pets/ Adoption fee: $125.00

Misty and Remington have been in our foster care for several months. They love, love, love their foster family and knew how to wrap them around their furry little paws. It was an easy decision to welcome this brother and sister into the family. We wish both of them many more years of love and cuddle time!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING 2020 So many of us have out of necessity altered our once "take for granted lives." Pandemic/Covid-19 has now become the Universal language, and all of us have challenges that need to be conquered. One example for a few of us is trying to conquer following the arrows in the grocery store :-) Thanksgiving is a time for celebrating our blessings, and yes Thanksgiving 2020 we at Chatham Kent Animal Rescue are truly grateful for the many acts of kindness and s...upport from so many compassionate and caring people. Our Fosters and Volunteers are the foundation of our rescue. Without these amazing people who open their hearts and homes to the abandoned, sick, scared dogs and cats so many of them would die. With an abundance of love you bring forth a new mind, body, and spirit of the unloved. From diagnosis to potential surgery our veterinary care is outstanding. Our animals can't tell you where it hurts and totally rely on their human to communicate on their behalf. From vaccinations to restoring a blind dogs sight our animals thank you for their care and apologize for the occasional bite you have received. Shelters are a scary place for any animal, so many do not deserve to end there due to being a stray or owner surrender. We are fortunate to have a wonderful rapport with many shelters. We feel so blessed that shelter staff will contact us about a dog who will not go on the adoption floor because they may be fearful, too old or have health issues. Every single dog has become a cherished family pet. If a dog could talk they would call our transporters their Angels. These volunteers donate their time and any expenses incurred in the transportation process of their precious cargo. It could be three dogs or just one dog, doesn't matter to them, they are ensuring they have a better life, a new beginning. A few of our dogs who came from Quebec shelters travel 10 to 12 hours in one day to arrive safe and sound with our rescue. Volunteers who offer to drive make this miracle happen. Death row to new life. We always take great joy in thanking the children who sell lemonade, or ask for dog food instead of a birthday present and donate to our rescue. Your true kindness is so vey much appreciated, and we know you are the rescuers of the future. Thank you to the Petvalu stores who donate much needed food and supplies to our rescue. We appreciate you so much. We know there are many, many more people who support our rescue and donate to help toward our online auctions - thank you ALL so very very much! Happy Thanksgiving 2020 may you all find a source of comfort in these uncertain times. We at Chatham Kent Animal Rescue choose to acknowledge what blessings we have, and not draw attention to what we don't have.

Rolly is the kindest soul who found herself in a kill pound in Quebec. She has been a mom to many, many puppies. Those days are done! Now someone will be taking good care of her and giving her an amazing life! Rolly met her new family this week and there were smiles everywhere! This girl loves to give kisses and play ball. She doesn't always hand the ball back but she is in her glory getting all the attention now. We wish Rolly a long, happy life in her new home!

COURTESY POST - please contact the owner directly - our rescue does not have a foster home to take this puppy - Donna - [email protected] 5193501750 This is one of the most difficult things I have ever had to write. My family got a puppy on August 15, 2020 FreddieBear, a beautiful St. Bernard/Lab Mix (born May 19, 2020). He had severe anxiety and reduced vision in one eye, which was only discovered after we brought him home. His anxiety seemed to be improving, h...owever on Monday, he completely lost all of his vision causing his anxiety to skyrocket. He is circling non-stop and running into things, causing more anxiety and more circling. We are currently waiting on a referral to an ophthalmologist and neurologist, but he is completely unmanageable without heavy sedation; his fear and anxiety is causing aggression, lunging and non-puppylike biting. My husband and I both work full time and are concerned that we don’t have the time to give a doggie with such special needs. We would like to see him go to a home that would give him all the love and attention that we can’t. It is breaking our hearts, but we need to do what’s best for him in the long run. Meet George! He's a super sweet, curious fellow who loves companionship (he'll even meow at a closed door to be let in and be back by your side ). He’s very playful and a master fly catcher He also loves to chase a tennis ball up and down the stairs too!! He’s a little jumpy at loud or sudden sounds. So a home with adults and teens would probably be best for him. Bert Update from his new foster mom - Bert is loving his new home! It took him all little bit to come out of hiding but now he's a big mush ball and follows me all over. I couldn't have asked for a better first foster!

COURTESY POST - please contact the owner directly - Karen - 519.990.9276 Hi my name is Emmy and I'm a gorgeous 7 year young aussie. Let me tell you more about myself... I know basic commands, sit, stay, shake a paw and my favorite one, if you give me a treat, I will dance!! I get along well with other dogs, just ask them to stay away from my food, I don't like to share. I like my kennel at night time if you prefer, but I'll sleep anywhere. Do you have cats/other small pets or... small humans?? Then maybe your home isn't for me. I love to chase shadows, what can I say, I'm a herder. Now about my brother.. we need a home together. He's a 3 year old aussie/blue heeler mix. He loves everyone. I've taught him not to like cats.. knows a few basic commands, but is stubborn to do them. That's it about us... They're both fixed and up to date with shots (Feb 2020) Emmy the aussie, we are her 2nd home. We got her from the states about 3 years ago. She is microchips, but I the old owners name. Roo is chipped to us...

Second little kitten whose sibling was caught yesterday, is now safely with his or her sibling in foster home. This little one is scared of the unknown, it's heartbreaking to see them but good to know their days of scrounging for food and fearful of what's in the dark is now over. He or she doesn't know it yet but they were so lucky to have someone care enough to make the call to ask if we had a spot. Thanks to foster families for cats and dogs, we are able to help. Donat...ions for their care is gratefully accepted! Etransfers to [email protected] Password - Donation Cheques are welcome. We SO appreciate the support of everyone who follows our rescue and help us help the innocents. Thank you!

One of two little innocents caught outside Ridgetown area. Finder is trying to get the other little one who ran. This first one is with a foster mom and seemed to realize quick that he or she is safe and will get food regular and will be safe! Cute little munchkin was rolling over to get pets, both found on someone's property for the past 10 days and no one was looking.
