Hello YYC Screening Officers, On behalf of your Bargaining Committee (Andres Acuna, Sean McBrien, Shannon Olson, Zahran Shaukat and Rehan Zafar), we would like to provide you with an update on Collective Agreement negotiations. In preparation for meeting again with Garda this week, we received lots of feedback from the membership through the survey that was sent out and conversations with many of you. The Bargaining Committee also met twice for full day sessions to properly ...prepare to resume negotiations. As mentioned before, we had filed for conciliation with the Federal Medication and Conciliation Service and they appointed Daniel Shewchuk as a conciliation officer to try to help both parties reach a settlement. We met again with Garda this week from Tuesday-Thursday, with Mr. Shewchuk present for all meetings. After a difficult start to the week, the Committee feels good about the progress made over our three days of meetings. That said, we were not able to reach a settlement with Garda this week. Many of you have expressed to us and members of the Bargaining Committee that you would like to see this process wrapped up soon and so do we. However, we have been very intentional to take the time necessary to reach a good settlement that we are confident the membership will vote yes to ratify. Instead of rushing to get a settlement as soon as we can, we would rather take our time to get it right. We will schedule further dates to meet with Garda and Mr. Shewchuk very shortly with a goal of meeting again in August for at least 2 days. We are hopeful that we will reach a settlement during these days and be able to present it to the membership shortly after. Thank you for your patience and support as we go through this important process. We will continue to inform you whenever we have further updates to share. BRENDAN KOOY, BEN TIMMERMANS & RANDY KLASSEN CLAC Representatives

Hello CLAC Garda YYC members, On behalf of your CLAC Local 56 Bargaining Committee, we would like to provide an update on the next steps in Collective Agreement negotiations with Garda. Following the first ratification process where the tentative settlement was rejected by the membership, we sent out a survey for members to provide their feedback on what people liked or disliked in the first settlement. Thank you to all who took the time to complete the survey a total of 4...18 members participated, which has provided us with very good information and a strong mandate to return to negotiations. The Bargaining Committee met on Wednesday this week to review the survey responses and start to draft amended proposals for when we return to negotiations. The Committee also made the decision to file a Notice of Dispute and Request for Conciliation Assistance, which will result in the appointment of a Conciliation Officer to be present for all negotiation meetings with Garda moving forward. The Committee felt it was appropriate to take this next step in negotiations. (Note: for the many members who have expressed conflict of interest concerns about having to work with a certain Conciliation Officer who was previously a Teamsters business agent, please know that we have specifically asked for this individual to not be appointed and we trust that she will not be.) Once a Conciliation Officer is appointed, we will seek further meeting dates with the company. Although the summer will be a challenging time to meet due to vacation schedules of everyone involved in negotiations, we will press for meeting dates as soon as possible. The Bargaining Committee is determined to continue on with the process and bring a new and improved settlement back for membership ratification in a timely fashion. There is one change on the Bargaining Committee to let you know about due to a 6 month leave of absence, Luther Dougherty has made the decision to step down from the Committee. As such, Shannon Olson has replaced Luther. Shannon was the first alternate as the next highest vote getter during Bargaining Committee elections held in January. As always, please feel free to reach out to Brendan or Randy at the CLAC Calgary Member Centre by phone or email if you have any questions. We appreciate your patience and support as we continue to work to negotiate a good, acceptable Collective Agreement settlement. Thank you, BRENDAN KOOY & RANDY KLASSEN CLAC Representatives
