I love this sleek outlet design which helps maintain a seamless look throughout a wall or island. This type of pop-out outlet is also a safe design for young kids, eliminating access to the outlet from their little fingers. I've not used one yet though, have you?

Reason #83 to hire an Interior Design professional: We have great relationships with our trades and suppliers. This means, when fun fabrics like these patterned ones (swipe left) are discontinued, we may still be able to get our hands on some for you! These 2 in particular were discontinued, but my design centre had large memo sample that they gave me both pieces. This means that I have enough to make 2 kidney pillows with each, doing one side in the fun patterned fabric ...and the other side in the solids I sourced to coordinate with them. My client's are thrilled because they fell in love with these patterns and at least now I can still use them in their basement decor!

This Microwave drawer is such a great design. It's a perfect addition to a kitchen island and is easy to reach so it's perfect if you're short (like me!) or have back issues. Would you use this microwave drawer idea in your kitchen, or do you prefer a more classic design?

MAKEOVER MONDAY! This was an amazing living room we did for a client -at least we think so! :) The walls were done in classic gray with an accent wall in hale navy by Benjamin Moore. The brushed stainless steel modern fireplace which was already in the space and is centered on the wall with the two custom geometric upholstered chairs. We managed to use quite a few pieces that the client's already had. We absolutely love how this space came together, what do you think? Do you have a formal dining room in your home? We live in a small 3 bedroom bungalow and have our dining area in our finished basement, as there is no room on the main floor! That space doubles as a place to play cards and games like Scrabble and Monopoly. . Thanksgiving this year was different and I'm extremely thankful that everyone I care about is safe and healthy - I mean, that is what really matters, I know! BUT, if I could have a formal dining space, that would be nice. What I love about what I do is that I get to live vicariously through my client's, whose homes I get to decorate so beautifully like this formal dining room here. Behind the design: My bathroom renovation Full blog post for more before and after photos https://clairejefford.com/small-bathroom-makeover/ The problem with the shower: So many issues with the previous bathroom, where do I start?!... First, the tile itself is just gross. The dated pattern and the two different tones of purple were not doing it for me, but lets be fair, this was initially designed in 1967. Despite purple being my favourite colour, this is not my idea of colour love when I see these violet and lilac tones together in this way. The tiles do not go to the ceiling either, they dont even go as far as where the shower head that is fixed to the wall! Also, it wasnt enjoyable to take a shower here because the shower head itself was cheap and flimsy. You know how it is, we put off investing in something decent because we knew the bathroom renovation was upcoming. The solution: New beautiful white picket fence wall tiles that go all the way to the ceiling. Much more fresh, clean and bright, dont you agree? Seriously, there isnt anyone on this earth that could argue that with me! My new Grohe Power&Soul handheld shower with sleek shower rail. I love how easy it is to slide up and down, especially since everyone else in my family is taller than me (not difficult when Im 5 tall!) and I need to readjust it almost daily. I like that it has four settings for the spray itself because who doesnt like to have options? Now I have five choices for how I want to enjoy my shower, if you include our new rainfall shower head. Niches are built directly into the wall, so they don't take up any space within the shower at all! The photo on the left is from my own bathroom while the other is from a kids shared bathroom where we chose all the finishes and paint colours. Both the brother and sister each get a niche! ...
