MEDIA RELEASE! REOPENING OF THE PORT ROBINSON FERRY The City of Thorold is happy to announce that the Port Robinson Ferry will resumed services as of Thursday, July 2, 2020. The ferry will operate daily July & August from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and September & October 9:00 a.m. to dusk.... Due to the Covid-19 pandemic the following protocols will remain in place for the 2020 season: Riders must wear masks while on the ferry in order to utilize capacity to a maximum of 10 riders. Upon boarding the Deck Hand will provide hand sanitizer to each rider. If you are showing any symptoms or have come into contact with anyone with Covid-19 we ask that you do not ride the ferry. For riders unable to wear a mask we will accommodate 2 riders per trip to ensure physical distancing can be maintained. When you approach the ferry on either side of the Welland Canal you will notice the gate to access the ferry will be closed, this is to ensure that physical distancing can be maintained when other riders are disembarking from their ride. An attendant will be present during peak times to organize riders to ensure all protocols are being adhered to and assist with timely service for riders. Ferry staff will be sanitizing the benches and railings after each use. We wish to thank everyone for their patience with this delayed opening, but we hope you can safely enjoy the Port Robinson Ferry this season. See more
