Today at the Clinical Simulation Center we ran the Anesthesia Sr. Airway Workshop for their 4th and 5th year residents. We combined our cric training models that we made in house with high fidelity simulation. #MedicalSimulation #Innovation #MedicalEducation
Thanks to Zoriana and the team at ECHO Healthcare for bringing their very #realistic Lifecast Body Simulation Ltd manikins to the Clinical Simulation Centre. We also had the pleasure of exploring ECHO's very cool VR technology from Oxford Medical Simulation. #Thefutureofsimulation

We did it - we won the Innovation Award at the SimOne Expo today!! Queen's has the perfect sim storm with a great group of educators. Dean Reznick and Leslie Flynn have always supported and inspired new projects while our Director, Dan Howes, is an inspirational and creative innovator. All the faculty and staff at the CSC have contributed to the curriculum growth which includes things like in situ, CPD, CBME IPE, research and our new Centre for the Future of Simulation - the ingredients of our success.
SimOne has short listed the CSC for a Sim Innovator Award. Here is why they picked us: Faculty of Health Sciences, Queen's University, ON for world-leading applications of simulation in competency-based education, for services provided to regional hospitals as well as the university, and for establishing the Centre for the Future of Simulation. The Award winner will be announced at the SimOne 2018 Expo in Calgary in Nov.

The CSC is lending Jessica Burjorjee, Queen’s Anesthetist and sim guru, a mannequin and equipment for her Health City booth. She will give visitors an opportunity to view some of the latest technology used by medical and nursing students, as well as residents at Queen’s University to learn resuscitation skills such as airway management and cardiovascular life support.
Come check us out #ScienceRendezvousKingston Saturday May 12th 2018 The Rogers K-Rock Center at 10:00am to 3:00pm.
