Durham Alliance Association Social Club is supported by the Government of Canada’s Emergency Community Support Fund and The Canadian Red Cross Society. This grant was provided to fund projects designed to help communities experiencing heightened vulnerability during the COVID-19 crisis. While the global pandemic has left no community untouched, this certainly hit home with the LGBTQ community here in Durham Region. With the increased isolation, community members have had to a...dapt to fewer hands-on, direct support and services. With this grant, we will be better equipped to be there for those who need it most. Jason Allman, President of Durham Alliance Association Social Club, Through this unprecedented time we need to stand together and build on the culture of respect in helping one another, by relieving some of the pressures COVID-19 has placed on financial loss within the LGBTQ Community of Durham Region. Durham Alliance Association Social Club will be assisting the LGBTQ Community of Durham with much-needed relief food baskets as well as other supports needed to know they are not alone.
