Utilizing your breath is a quick and easy way to improve your posture throughout the day. Inhale deeply while sitting or standing in place to bring yourself into a more lengthened and decompressed position. A body at rest likes to slouch and round forward. The use of breath creates space and improves posture to oppose this!

Member Spotlight Jude 1.Why did you start Pilates?... I had been looking for a form of exercise I could stay dedicated to. Some of my friends were passionate about Pilates, but I hadn’t tried it. I heard about the great benefits, tried a sample class, and joined the club (also, it helped that the club owner is pretty cool! ). 2.What is your favorite thing about coming to class? The happy feeling I get as I acknowledge that I am taking good care of myself! 3.What is one benefit you have seen from Pilates? I feel more flexible, balanced and engaged with my well-being. 4.What is your goal with Club Pilates? To increase my range of motion and strengthen my core. Also, since the little aches and pains of aging are starting to come for me, Pilates is how I plan to keep them away! 5.What is your favoritePilates move? Moon jumping is fun! 6.What other benefits have you gained from Club Pilates? Pilates is fun, so it has made me consistently attend, which is half the battle won! Also, I enjoy the camaraderie of classmates and the helpful input of the instructors. 7.What are your hobbies outside of Club Pilates? Sunning, skiing, cottaging, traveling and hanging with the girls. 8. Do you have any children or pets? I have a cat that is a jerk. But he’s my jerk. And a son who is also mine, but not a jerk! I also have two beautiful stepdaughters. 9.Where is your favorite place to travel to? The Mayan Riviera for all-inclusive sun and relaxation! 10.What is your favorite movie of all time? The Sound of Music. I said what I said. ;) 11.What is your favorite food item? Crab legs with lemon and butter. I’m one of those people from the buffet who have a whole plate of ‘em!
