This stone was made for the Regina Court House and laid at opening of the building, a dispute later arose about the spelling of the word 'honourable', the architect had submitted a design to the government drawing attention to the spelling 'honorable' to maximize the lettering size on the stone, this was initially accepted, however he was required to replace the stone at his own cost and therefore maintained possession of it. We need to find a home for it since it does not meet museum criteria. 30" wide x 25" high.

Bank Robbers and Safecrackers Welcome. Anybody want to try to crack a safe. We have one in our collection and do not have a combination anymore. Its from the Winnipeg Safe Company from the early 1930's. Let us know if you’re up to the challenge. Dynamite is not an option.

The Civic Museum of Regina and the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame are partnering to celebrate Women's History Month this October through a variety of exciting initiatives that will engage the community with Saskatchewan Women in Sports. We hope to turn the entire city into a museum for the month of October by creating pop-up displays in different locations around town. Our professional curatorial staff will work with businesses and community groups to curate existing spaces... in a way that highlights Saskatchewan's incredible sportswomen and showcases different organizations' own connection to the sports community. Spaces can be non-traditional, but should be open to the public for some portion of the day. Visitors will be able to find and visit these museum sites through a special guide provided by the Civic Museum of Regina and Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame. If you are interested in being a part of this program please email Gillian Barker at [email protected]. Photo from the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame

Thank you to everyone who came out to visit the Broadway Popcorn Wagon at the #qcx19, including Linda Brown (pictured here), who popped and sold popcorn from the wagon at the Ex back in 1969 to save money for a trip to Las Vegas to see Elvis! Thank you also to our wonderful #CivicMuseumOfRegina volunteers who collected stories like Linda's and served up fresh popcorn all week! We couldn't have done it without you! . .... . #CivicMuseumofRegina #heritage #history #artifacts #museum #yqr #regina #yqrhistory #reginahistory #heritageyqr #reginasask #saskhistory #popcorn See more
