Seafood mix to the rescue! We save all the trim from our premium fillets so you can make easy, economical soups, chowders, tacos and more. Sauté onions, garlic, carrots and celery till soft (or whatever veggies you have!).... Add a tin of tomatoes. Same amount of fish stock (or veggie stock- whatever you have!) Cook gently for 20 mins, then add in seafood mix and cook for a further 15 mins. Having a bad day? Just add cream ;) Easy, comforting, warming. Perfect for a gloomy day like today. Let’s talk about wild salmon! We are able to stock wild salmon out of season by buying high quality fish that’s been frozen at sea (FAS). Each of these fish is individually cleaned and frozen just a few hours after being hook and line caught by small boat fishers. That way there is minimum damage to the ocean’s eco system and you get the maximum quality seafood. We have wild salmon FAS in stock to suit all budgets - from around $5 per portion for pink salmon through to $12... per portion for jumbo flaked chinook salmon. We currently have pink, chinook, keta and coho salmon in-store, all frozen at sea. Dinner could be delicious we’re open till 6pm. Recipe time! We’ve got fresh keta salmon in-store today. Keta’s firm flesh makes it a great option for grilling or baking and it has a smooth delicate flavour. Try it baked with the last of the season’s basil (or take a short cut and buy a jar of ready-made pesto!). Combine basil, olive oil, garlic, pepper, lemon juice, salt and grated Parmesan cheese in a food processor; process until finely chopped.... Put the salmon fillets on a greased baking tray and spread 2 tablespoons of pesto on top. Bake, uncovered, at 400 for 20-22 minutes or until fish flakes easily with a fork. Sprinkle with more cheese and bake for another 2-3 minutes until the the cheese is melted. Try it with buttered noodles, pasta, mash, grilled veggies or a salad. It’s delicious!
