The Dr.Margaret Savage Centre in Cold Lake had their Candlelight Vigil last night. Thank you for shedding light on our shared and very important cause, which is raising awareness and supporting families to help stop family violence.

Today is Children's Grief Awareness Day. Grief comes in many forms, for many reasons, and can look very different in many ways; all of it deserving support. By teaching our little ones about grief and that it is ok to grieve in our own way, our own time, you are providing them with important tools to carry them throughout their lives. Unfortunately the walk to honour and bring awareness for murdered and missing indigenous women and girls, hosted by the Mannawanis Centre, has been postponed. Please take the time today to honour, to educate yourselves, to reach out, the reality of it is alarming and we need to stand together to make changes!

Half of all women in Canada have experienced at least one incident of physical or sexual violence since the age of 16. 67% of Canadians say they have personally known at least one woman who has experienced physical or sexual abuse. Approximately every six days, a woman in Canada is killed by her intimate partner.... These are alarming rates, and with the global pandemic it has only gotten worse. #BullyingAwarenessWeek is November 16th-20th This year’s theme, #WheretoTurn encourages you to learn about resources/supports available to you and to those that may be affected by bullying, whether it's online or in person. Let's be nice, let's make a difference! We can all make a difference in someone’s life.

What a beautiful gesture received from the Amisk Community School. Thank you for thinking of donating to the Capella Centre and for making these beautiful gifts for those in need! These blankets were initiated by the Grade 2 class as a challenge to complete a good deed to benefit another community. They decided to make their own "Blankets of Hope", each with a personalized letter from the students. Thank you again so very much! We appreciate you and your very thoughtful donation!
