Now, it serves people from all around the world, from different countries and different nationalities. Continental Delicatessen was one of the first European food stores established in Ottawa. It officially opened in 1956. All the meat products we provide to our customers are made locally, certified natural and gluten-free. All butchery is created and cooked following Polish and German recipes, using their traditional ways. I have managed this store for 15 years, and have worked in the food business over 20 years. In store, we prepare home-made meals, like pierogies, goulash soup, red borscht, salads, bigos, cabbage rolls, schnitzelsthe kitchen allows us to spread our creativity. Our custom-made sandwiches are famous in the Market during lunch time. The store has very good energy, it feels like a small-town market and a social place to be. You could be served in the language of your choice: English, French, Polish, Russian, Ukrainian, Romanian, Spanish, Slovak, Czech and Hungarian. Do you think you will find mainly Polish products here? Of course not! When you come here, you will see products on the shelves from Austria, Germany, Poland, Russia, Ukraine, Serbia, Croatia, Netherlands, Bulgaria, Czech, Slovakia and many other countries. We have a very friendly and knowledgeable team in the store, eager to do their best to help you. I have really enjoyed working with them for many years.
