Who am I? My name is Briana Cooper. I have been fascinated by birth and babies for as long as I can remember. The first time I saw a birth video was when my mom was pregnant when I was two years-old. After that, I began asking my mom more questions about pregnancy, birth and everything in between because I was so curious about how such a miracle could occur. I remember helping my mom breathe through contractions while I sat with her in the tub. For years after that, I contin...ued to watch birth videos and read about pregnancy, but I wasn't aware that I could pursue birth-work as a career. That is until I saw a video about someone's experience working as a doula. I was so excited to see that there were others that were as interested in the magic of birth as I was. I soon began my training with Doula Training Canada to become a birth and postpartum doula. My experience working as a nanny with infants, babies, and toddlers has been so helpful as I continue my certification journey. Seeing the transformative experience that a pregnant person goes through is wonderful to witness. Being able to support families through their birth and postpartum experience is a gift that I am truly grateful for. Having the opportunity to see the strength and bonding that families experience through pregnancy is incredible. These are some of the many reasons why I am happy to provide birth and postpartum doula services.
