This is ONE of my piano takes on John Prine’s song. I tried to stay more true to the original feel of it, but I ended up slowing it down a little bit more, and then tried some different things between the 2nd chorus and the last verse and then well...here it is. I hope that you enjoy it and thanks for listening! I appreciate you leaving your likes and sharing! Thank you!

This is a tune by Tom Waits and it has always struck me as a piece of strength. Being happy with where you are at and a sense of fulfillment with what you have. Finding beauty where you are. Not everyone’s happy place is the same. I’m playing my 1959 Kay which was first purchased by my uncle when he was 17, and I later got it from my grandfather. This ones for me mother!

Here is another cool tune that I learned for Amanda and Ryan’s wedding years ago in Medicine Hat. Thanks for listening...and for sharing.

I found and listened to this song by John Prine tonight for the first time, trying to steer clear of his more 'well-known' songs to avoid doubling up. (not that there is anything wrong with that). This song was first released by Don Williams in May of '82, followed closely by Johnny Cash in August of '82, then George Hamilton IV, and Sandy Mason, who cowrote this song with John and Roger Cook,...all in 1982. John released it on his own in 1984 on his 'Aimless Love' Album. I hope you enjoy it.

I first learned this song back in ‘95, in my hotel room in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. I was playing at a bar called Deputy’s with the band Twang Bango! It was a lifetime ago! Thanks for watching, listening and sharing. I hope you enjoy. The guitar is a 1970 Guild D25 that I bought off of Tim Williams, and it is one of my favourites!

‘Naked As We Came’ by Iron and Wine. This is one of my wife’s favourites. I learned for a wedding years ago when I lived in Medicine Hat and got to perform it on the mound in the trees at Central Park for Ryan and Amanda’s wedding. They had an great selection of tunes I had never heard before but was happy to learn. I hope you enjoy!

Hello Folks, Here is the second video in a series of what may turn out to be many videos of covers...hopefully some originals will make it here. The song is Van Morrison's "Into The Mystic". It was a request by my wife and is dedicated to Bonnie and Jim. Share...Like, get other people to do the same if you or they are so inclined. Cheers!

Ok, This took much longer than expected or intended. After many attempts, new strings, more attempts, some deletions, and a late night, I have 1 video! I apologize for my COVID-Couture, but my 'Mr. Rogers' sweater is comfy, and it was after midnight. Here we have "Walking in Memphis", by Marc Cohn, played by me, on an early 70's Framus 12-string that belonged to my grandfather. This is the beginning of more videos...and I also apologize for my feeble attempt at facial hair (my son requested it while I'm staying at home), and the fact that many of you are seeing me without a hat for the first time.

I haven’t forgotten about playing some music and posting videos...I’ve just been soaking up this time with my family. It’s crazy, I haven’t napped once since March 13?!? I’m usually completely bagged from teaching all day, schoolwork after everyone in my house goes to sleep, and then gigs every Thursday, Friday and Saturday. I have just been spending normal hours working each day, not staying up all night, and going to bed at a decent time. Yes, I miss performing, and Lord knows I am missing the money...but this pace is very nice. Give me some requests for the first video please...I’m waiting. Love you All!!! Corbie

Soooo, Aussie Rules is closed until April 17 (at least) and any corporate shows between now and then have either been canceled or postponed. I’m working on putting my home studio together and was wondering if anyone would be interested in me putting up requests here and on my YouTube channel. I am also looking at doing a bunch of writing and working towards an album that I’ve been putting off for too long...originals and a couple of my favourite covers (done Corbie-style).

I’m very excited to be taking my first weekend off (no shows at all, anywhere) since May Long Weekend 2019!?! That’s right, normally, when I’m not playing at Aussie Rules I am away for a corporate show...this weekend I am just relaxing in the mountains with my family. Enjoy your families and/or your friends. Be kind to everybody.

Hello all! It has been a crazy busy time, and now it’s going to get really busy...I just wanted to let all of you know that I will indeed, once again, same as most weekends, be performing Thursday, Friday and Saturday at Aussie Rules Piano Bar in Calgary! This weekends players include Madi Allen and Spenser Poole! Come down, say hi, request a song...and enjoy a fun time! Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Tonight was a difficult time performing. I have had voice issues before and made it through but to not have my ears working properly, that’s a game changer. It is depressing, frustrating and exhausting. I wore my ear plugs, and just strained and second-guessed myself all night with the imbalance of one ear not working correctly and not being sure if I actually was singing in tune or not. I rode with the autopilot on the majority of the time and really struggled to stretch out for fear of not giving a great show. I am grateful for my colleagues; Jesse Peters and Madi Allen, and their support and professionalism. The show goes on and so shall I.

The 2019 edition of Porter’s Dueling Pianos at the Medicine Hat Exhibition and Stampede is all done for another year! Very special thanks to the amazing Craig Learmont for another fantastic time sharing the stage with him. We had a blast and enjoyed performing for everyone who attended!

I’m looking forward to being back at the Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede again with Craig Learmont! Friday after the bulls and Saturday after the opener music, in the Grandstand! Muahaha!
