Finals week for Brooklyn and Haley from Aces K-9 Care in Prince George BC. It’s been a pleasure teaching these two ladies these 6 wks. Nakita is getting her covid haircut cleaned up and Angel the Legatto is getting a winter clip.

A few of the dogs the students have been practicing on. Roxie the Aussiedoodle, Joey the Shihtzu with eye issues (clean face and topknot because of that) and Odie all sporting their fall clips. Well done ladies.

Haley plucking hair out of the ears, while doing a practical test on a poodle clip down trim. We do a lot of these when the dogs come in too matted to do a longer clip on. We take them down to a fresh start.

Having a fun day teaching a novelty clip on a dog. Scruffy will be Burns Lake’s lion for a month or so. One in a while a change is nice. Scruffy usually sports a mohawk.

A proud moment for these two Kitimat women. Congratulations to Abby and Blair for completing their studies. These girls worked hard they worked on 125 dogs of all breeds and mixes. Its been my privilege to teach you. Best wishes for you both in your new professions.

Graduation day tomorrow for our latest class. Had the last student for September sign up yesterday so school classes are sold out for 2020. We have several students signed up for next year already. Space is limited. Thanks for all the inquiries. Its been a very different year with covid. Grooming is so busy but the boarding kennel is dead for the first time in all these years with nobody travelling. We remain open because we are an essential service. Stay safe everyone.

Working on three Goldens today. What a wonderful breed! Proud of my students. Kelly and Heidi. Theyve worked hard learning their grooming skills. Graduation on Friday. Terrace and PG will have new certified groomers available in the coming weeks. It has been a nightmare trying to get grooming equipment during this time. Heidi and Kelly are our current students learning their skills here at the school. We work in separate rooms and are gloved and masked when working in close quarters. We are in week two of this session and these ladies are gaining confidence daily. Way to go! We now have one September spot available in our program. Our September student has a medical issue to attend to and will come next year instead so if you are interested give me a shout.

School is still operating. We are staying safe and positive. Our current student graduates in two weeks. I saw that pet stores/services are an essential service so it doesnt look like we will be getting shut down. Classes are scheduled to go as previously advertised. If you are experiencing symptoms of the corona virus or do not feel comfortable attending school please let us know as soon as possible. We still have dogs coming thru the school daily and are receiving them in a safe manner outside by their vehicles with a long leash hand off to keep everyone safe. So far so good. We are still operating, no hand shaking, drive thru pick up and delivery, by the sign in the driveway. We will come out gloved and take your dog in by the leash, bring them back to you at the appointed pick up time. Please have cash or e-transfer for payment. Our debit, the company asked us to put away the machine til this is over.

Dont think we havent been asked. Obedience as well, lol.

Just a note to the public and my upcoming students. We are taking every precaution to keep everyone safe here at the school. Currently we are offering drive thru service. You book, come out and stay in your vehicle. We will come and get your pet, discuss your needs, groom your pet and bring it back out at the pick up time we gave you. This will allow us to keep going providing care at our busiest time. If you are signed up for class this year, give us a shout and we will discuss options. No one knows how long this thing is going to last or how severe it will get so we are taking things day to day. Keep up do date by checking our site. Thanks.

Charlotte will have some dog sweaters for sale on consignment very soon and provided my Christmas gift handouts to the dogs here over the Christmas holiday. This led to an order for her to make balls for the shelter in puerto Vallarta Thank you Lori Heibert for thinking of the Nexican Shelter dogs.

Just got a message from Bakers Acres Kennels in Burns Lake. Anyone in the Burns Lake area who is looking for a new career. Brandi Baker is looking to find a groomer who would like to set up shop in her shop. If you are a local looking to change or start a new career, come get your certification and start earning a decent living. Demand is very high for this skill set. I also have shops in Kelowna area and pet stores wanting to hire our graduates. Only two spots left for the 2021 school year.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Northern BC School of Dog Grooming. 2019 has been a great year here for myself and the students. Thanks to my clients for allowing us to learn from their dogs grooming experience. The students and I are very grateful for the opportunity. 2020 classes have been filling up fast. We only have a couple of spaces left for the year. Thanks to PetValu in Kitimat, we have two women coming in September for training they have a beautiful ...new store with 2 grooming stations, one local women, and another from PG who is going into business with her sister who graduated in October and already is busy enough to add another groomer to the business. Also have interest from Kamloops and Vancouver Island. I am happy to represent our area. Its cool showing others that there is life beyond Hope BC. Have a wonderful Holiday. Hi everyone. Getting lots of inquires for Dog Grooming School this coming spring. The intake dates are as follows. March 2 - April 10 2020. April 20th - May 29th, 2020. Summer and fall dates will be announced after my husband gets his 2020 holiday schedule figured out. Should you want to register fee is $3800. 10% deposit will hold your spot in class as we only take one to two students per session. On site accommodation is available for the April 20th, summer and fall sessions. Trailer is not available for the first session as the weather is usually too cold to operate . We have a kennel in Prince George looking to add a groomer and wanting to hire on one of our graduates. Also have a salon located near Kelowna looking for a certified graduate. Got the call I was waiting for for a small hand surgery to release a trigger finger. Cant start fall class till it is healed over. Will be starting back on the 16th Sept 2019. I am so happy to report that our first graduates spring of 2018 are thriving in their new businesses and are being very well received in their communities. Most northern towns are in need of groomers. We get calls from communities all over the north wondering how long it takes to get a dog in for grooming. We only have one intake of students left for 2019 classes. Class will start on Sept 16th. Next 6 wk session after that will be spring of 2020 Mar/Apr, Apr/May, May/Jun. She will be working at one of the pet stores as a groomer part time while she goes to college. Her dream is to be an animal cop. It would be a perfect fit. It was a Shih Tzu day here at dog grooming school , they were all so good and Happy with their new bandanas and summer haircuts. Ariel Wildeman is in week three and has mastered bodies and foot styles, she will be providing grooming services in Prince George when she graduates.
