The Costume Museum of Canada is home to 35,000 artifacts spanning 400 years and is the only museum in North America uniquely dedicated to the collection of costumes, textiles, and related accessories.

After closing its doors in Dugald, Man., the Costume Museum of Canada is settling in its new home 25 kilometres away in Winnipeg's Exchange District, with the hopes of attracting more visitors. In October, the national fashion museum closed in Dugald, where it has been for 23 years,in the hopes of attracting more visitors in Winnipeg. An average of about 15,000 visitors visit the museum each year. It hopes to make that number grow to 50,000 once it reopens in the city.
