The upper parking lot will be closed tomorrow morning (Thursday November 5) for the installation of more barriers.

A new interpretation Sign has been erected on the summit of Eager Hill. It features a historic photo taken in 1949, showing the Rocky Mountain Trench on a view south from the old Forest Service lookout on the summit. Feel free to sit on the bench on the top and compare the changes in the forests and field over the last 70 years.

After months of planning and coordination and thanks to the generosity of the Broda Group for gravel and the Ministry of Forests for machinery, the upper parking lot on Mt. Baker Road was graded and filled in with gravel for the benefit of all forest users. Unfortunately some selfish individual(s) with no regard or respect for other users spun their vehicle around in circles in the middle of the parking area creating ruts that are just as deep as the original ones in the dirt. Please be advised that the upper parking lot on Mt. Baker Road will be closed beginning on October 13th and remain inaccessible to vehicles until the parking lot gravelling project is complete. This long awaited project will be a great improvement ! Thanks for your consideration.

Please be advised that the North Gate into the Community Forest will be closed and locked until further notice. We are working on a solution for the month of October and will post a notice when anything changes.
