Hello everyone, I am missing the activity around the club, but wanted to let you know we are still here :) We have practice ice available for you to book till Friday, December 18th. Current restrictions limit practice ice to one coach or partner ( 2 people per sheet of ice ) so hope to see some curler's come utilize the ice and throw some rocks before the Christmas Break. Register online to book your time.... The Pro Shop has lots of great stock plus all pants and shoes are still 25% off. We also have gift certificates available for those hard to buy for curler's in your life and just a reminder that gloves and grippers make great stocking stuffers. We have partnered with Connect Hearing through Curl BC and you can Win a $500 VISA gift card. Curl BC members, their friends and family can enter to win a $500 Visa gift card. Simply complete a free hearing test at your local Connect Hearing clinic before January 31st, 2021 to be entered. Visit connecthearing.ca/curlbc2020 to enter ! I wish all of you a quiet but Merry Christmas and look forward to seeing you in the New Year. Susan
A reminder that individual practice ice isavailable this week for registered curlers. Stay active, stay healthy, stay safe!
We are open for INDIVIDUAL practice ice from now until Friday December 18th. Registered curlers can check out our website or call the Club for ice times.
CURLING UPDATE AND SURVEY Open Curling Update and Survey configuration options Hello curler's, I would like to start by thanking everyone who is curling that has continued to support us in the past 7 weeks and the changing guidelines that we have faced.... The Campbell River Curling Club would like to plan another 9 week league to start in January and to move forward with these plans we need you. We are asking everyone to take the opportunity to fill out the SURVEY: Survey link: https://forms.gle/tkLM7ywRwmiNMPFYA The answers we receive from the survey questions will prepare us for the decision in how we will move forward. For those of you curling who wear glasses we recognize the challenges of that and we have seen many different options that work; I myself did the dish soap on my glasses and wow that certainly helped. We seen a number of people tape their masks to "seal" around the brim of the nose with success, and definitely having a couple masks to change out has proven to be helpful as well. We have local masks for sale in the office, they have adjustable ear pieces, a metal band for your nose as well as a filter pocket. The cotton masks are available in great fabrics to choose from and only $10. The Pro Shop has extended it's 30% off sale on all in stock shoes & pants until December 18th, also lot's of in stock gloves to choose from and they make great stocking stuffers. We have a couple weeks left of our weekly 50/50 draw which has been greatly supported. We would like to congratulate those who have won so far and hope to see everyone purchase a ticket for your chance to win. Stay safe & good curling, Susan Johnson
Some tips for wearing masks on the ice
Following Curl BC's update to the Return to Sport guidelines, we are also recommending curlers use masks on the ice. If you are able, please wear a mask on the ice.
Friendly reminder to stay 2m, or 2 xapart. Skips and Thirds - especially when on the backboards or in the house!
Lest we forget. Join us in remembering the contributions of the Canadian armed forces and their close ties to curling https://bit.ly/38xRcfJ ---... Curling Canada salue les contributions des Forces armées canadiennes et leurs liens serrés avec le curling https://bit.ly/3nd7MW9 See more
The Campbell River RCMP and Fire Department are having a Charity Check Stop in support of the Christmas Hamper drive. This will take place in our parking lot (Dogwood side) on Saturday December 5th from 1-5pm. Drive-thru/drop-off your donations of unwrapped toys and non-perishable food items.
Nice to see practice ice put to good use this afternoon. Remember to keep your distance and stay 2m apart whether it's a game or practice good curling!
Considering the new public health orders, our club is taking the following measures: Masks are now mandatory on and off the ice; the Bar is closed until further notice; no spectators permitted. Thank you to our curlers for doing their part to keep our local numbers down. Stay safe!

Attention ALL curlers! Exciting news to come! @campbellrivercurling
It has been brought to our attention that some members may be receiving "phishing" emails from imposter accounts trying to elicit personal information, financial information, or request online purchases on our behalf. There is no reason the curling club, or any of its Board members would ever contact you personally through email to request this type of information. If you receive a strange email, double check the senders email address - is this one you are familiar with? It is best to contact the supposed sender through another means to confirm if it was them. Do not click on any suspect links or send any sensitive information. Stay safe and stay vigilant!
Breaking News! The Board of Directors has decided to go ahead with re-opening plans for this upcoming season. Pre-registered teams and last years curlers will be contacted within the next week. General registration to open in September for our fall session beginning October 19th. Check our website or follow our FB page for the latest updates. There will be some big changes this year, but we are excited and look forward to welcoming back our curlers
Looking for some rainy day plans?A reminder to all curlers and members - please review the draft Covid-19 safety plan/return to curling plan and complete our second participation survey by the end of Sunday August 23. https://forms.gle/rrDLzpELBZAMd4B17
Please review our draft Covid-19 Safety Plan and Return to Curling Plan, then fill out our second participation survey. Your responses are required to help us decide if we are re-opening or not. Links to the Plan and Survey are posted on our website. https://crcurl.com/article/covid-19-participation-survey-2
We are working on our return to curling procedures and Covid-19 safety plan. Details to come within the next couple weeks, along with a follow-up participation survey for members. In the meantime, you can review some return to curling resources linked on our website. https://crcurl.com/article/return-curling-resources
Thank you to all our members and curlers for your great response to our Covid-19 Participation Survey. We received over 200 responses! The information you provided is critical for our planning. Using the survey data and other resources including CurlBCs Return to Sport guidelines and WorkSafe BCs Covid-19 safety plan, the Board will be drafting a few scenarios for what a return to curling looks like at our club. We will survey our membership again, with details on these sce...narios, in mid to late August to help us decide on the best path forward. A quick snapshot of survey responses. 3 of 4 respondents in the 50+ age category. 3 of 4 respondents indicated they plan to return to curling (as long as the club has adequate safety measures in place). 2 of 3 are willing to pay some amount as a pandemic fee in addition to regular dues. Just over half of respondents say they will use the bar/lounge following their games. Finally, 4 of 5 say they are willing to contribute some amount to help offset the costs of a shutdown.
Attention curlers! Help us plan for the 2020-21 season by completing this survey. https://forms.gle/3AgLV3jnpUNJCawn7
Curl BCs return to curling guidelines are now available. The Board of Directors will review this over the next couple weeks to develop plans specific to our club and the upcoming season. https://www.curlbc.ca/curling-guidelines-released/

We hope all our curlers are doing well. Stay safe and stay home.
British Columbians are asked to stay home. The more you stay at home, the safer it will be for everyone in your community. Physical distancing from others is i...mportant. The number of people getting sick across British Columbia is growing. Staying away from others is the only way to keep people from getting the disease. No community is immune. COVID-19 can spread by people who have minimal symptoms. Someone who seems healthy could spread it to parents, grandparents or other people in our community. Some of these people could get seriously ill from this virus. If you are sick, even with very mild symptoms, may have come into contact with someone who is sick, or have recently returned from travel, please see the dos and donts of self-isolation from the British Columbia Centre for Disease Control http://www.bccdc.ca//Documents/Self-isolation_dos_donts.pdf For those who arent sick, physical distancing is key. Check out http://www.bccdc.ca//Docum/COVID19-Physical-distancing.pdf for more info.
