CReATe Fertility Centre is keeping up-to-date with the data and recommendations regarding the health and safety of our patients. The Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society (CFAS) has released the following statement: "The COVID-19 vaccine trials did not include pregnant people. Therefore, there is no data at the present time to suggest or deny efficacy or safety during pregnancy. It is our understanding that future studies may include pregnant people, and we will have data ...indicating both safety and effectiveness in this population in the coming months. Additionally, for those who are planning pregnancies, ongoing surveillance of people who have been vaccinated will identify those who subsequently became pregnant. Their pregnancies will be analyzed for any adverse outcomes. CFAS is establishing a COVID-19 vaccine and pregnancy committee with the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada (SOGC) and we look forward to releasing subsequent joint statements in the future. In the interim, the CFAS continues to advocate the use of hand washing, masks, social distancing and adherence to the policies of local public health authority to minimize the spread of COVID-19."
