Note from Chad: We are in the early stages of thinking about the return to coworking downtown and would love to know your thoughts! Plastic shields between desks, uber clean space, sanitizers... along with protocols on coming in, etc. The key thing is safety, but we want to know if Coworking and Social Distancing can work! As most of you know, TCS is a labour of love for Sandra and I, so moving forward we will need to know there is some fundin...g coming in monthly to really make this work. We’ve always said, working alone sucks. And after this stretch, many wil say working from home does too. This will be interesting times and I can see a new surge for privately operated, ‘trep owned, genuine coworking spaces in our communities. Well written, Brandon!

Are we going to see a coworking revolution after COVID? Many are inching to get back to work, but some corporate offices may have shut down saving costs during isolation. Interesting times for coworking spaces around the world. The Creative Space is a volunteer run space, started 11 years ago and has seen hundreds of business start grow and thrive over the years! We do not have the big backing of many city or government funded operations around the nation, yet we do feel a coworking space focused on community, collaboration and wholistic care for SMEs and startups is needed in our downtown. We would want to continue this and, as we've done ...for over 11 years, to partner with other great programs and orgs. Some big decisions will need to be made soon, but we'd love to see a post-COVID boom for getting out of the house and into an inspiring, creative and community-centric spaces! Let us know your thoughts and as always we hope to see us all continue our support micro-businesses and startups of all stages!

After much thought and in light of the announcement today from the Premier, we are writing to you to announce that we have decided to close our space until further notice. We hope we can continue to foster community online! This past week it has been hard to ignore the increased concern over the spread of COVID-19, especially in the last few days, where big decisions are being made that effect people’s routines and livelihoods. We want to do our part to protect our families and others around us. That being said, we want to assure you that we are taking extra precautions to keep our coworking space clean and our members safe, including deeper and more frequent cleanings, and continuing to have a...lcoholbased sanitizers available. Please postpone or have virtual meeting with clients and practice social distancing between members in the space. We recommend everyone wash their hands well, bring food and drinks from home and not go to public places during work hours, along with using other sanitary routines. As long as we are ensured our members are following these recommendations, we will remain open in order to help business keep working. We will assess this day to day. If you are feeling any symptoms related to coronavirus (or any other contagious virus), or would like to take extra precautions, please work from home. The well-being of you, your family, and the safety of our colleagues is top of mind. COVID-19 is generally characterized by mild symptoms, including sore throat, cough, and fever. This illness can be more severe for some people and can lead to pneumonia or other breathing difficulties. If you believe you are exhibiting symptoms, do not go to your health care provider, walk-in clinic or the hospital without first receiving instructions from your doctor, Telehealth Ontario (1-866-797-0000), or the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit 1(-705-721-7520 weekdays or 1-877-721-7520 after-hours).
