After an amazing 17 years of meeting many awesome people from all around the world Lin and I have decided to bring forward our (semi) retirement. We had planned to continue welcoming guests to our home here for a few more years yet, but the COVID situation has forced us to re-evaluate those plans. So we have sold the house and bought a property two hours north west of here.....closer to our daughter and new baby granddaughter Jordyn. We anticipate continuing operating a B&B ...in a very very parred down way. We will not be advertising on any of the big sites...i.e. Expedia: Booking: Air B&B etc. We will be relying on repeat guests (those who want to explore a new area of Ontario closer to Lake Huron) and word of mouth only. What started as a fundraiser for our daughter Marianne's dream of becoming an Olympic snowboarder (which came true at Sochi in 2014) turned into a very interesting and fun way, not only to raise money for her, but also to meet and host people. We have a lot of interesting stories of fun times, awkward times, and some difficult times, and have made some great new friends along the way. They are times we will never forget, and the fact that the whole reason we began the business was to assist with the funding of a young athlete.......and the fact she was able to live out her dream to the fullest made it all so so worthwhile. A special thanks also to the many other people who helped Marianne along the way , without your help she could not have accomplished all that she did. A huge thank you to all our family and friends, especially Marianne's siblings Nick, Joanne and Kerri who, when they came home, had to sleep on a futon in our room and share the pool with visiting guests. They were extremely proud and supportive of their baby sister. The people who have bought our home are lovely people and are thinking of continuing on, so Creekside B&B may still be in operation. We are remaining closed for a while longer...however we have been keeping busy sprucing up Creekside and doing some jobs we have not had time to accomplish...one of them cleaning out our garage....a daunting task... :)
