There have been some people indicating we support Nazis. Let us clarify. Our business was started out of the ashes of WW2 and the Korean conflict. Our heroes are those that went over and fought the Nazis. If you notice we have a crashed plane on the roof of our store. It represents a Nazi plane that has been shot down and burned. I'm sure you also noticed that even the emblem is backwards so as not to be an actual swastika. ... The history of that piece is that it is a prop from the opening of a movie called the "Battle of Britain" in 1969 at the Grand Theatre. The movie depicts the brave soldiers that fought and defeated the Nazis in that famous battle. We also have German pieces from that era which are on display which are war trophies taken by Canadian Soldiers - from dead Nazis. We would please ask you to remember those Canadians who were there at the start in 1939 fighting unprepared to help defend the Commonwealth. It is an extremely ugly part of the world's history but we do not intend to sweep it under the carpet as uncomfortable as that image might be. Every year we participate in the Remembrance events and the Veteran's food drive and still, and always, provide discounts to those serving our Country. Sadly it is not clear that we have supported our troops, for the last 65 years, fighting for the freedom of all people. For those who know us and have defended us, thank you, for those of you who do not, please come in and talk to us. These comments against us are not who we are.
