Slight change of plans for this years delivery date. The Mission has asked us to bring in our cupcakes a little earlier( they will be freezing them) so that they can be more flexible with the new challenges that they will be facing due to COVID, including handing out Christmas dinners in their food truck during the holiday season They have asked us to bring them in on Sunday December 13th between the hours of 9:30am-11:30am at the usual side door. Today Councillor Catherine McKenney, Special Liaison for Housing and Homelessness, tabled a notice of motion at city council to have an emergency declared conce...rning the unprecedented levels of homelessness in our community. Councillor McKenney also launched a petition to urge city council to adopt this motion. You can find both the notice of motion and petition here: http://www.housingemergencyottawa.ca/ The Ottawa Mission strongly supports Councillor McKenney’s efforts. Please let your city councillor, MPP and MP know that you want all levels of government to work together now to provide practical, accessible and timely solutions to meet the needs of the most vulnerable in our community
