After a 5hr emergency meeting of CUSA Council, we unanimously voted in favor of the motion for a FundQi referendum to take place in March. Thank you to our dedi...cated CUSA councilors who took the time to thoroughly analyze this issue despite the pressures of this time of year. We also approved the Writ for the 2021 CUSA elections which outlines all the procedures for candidates to follow to begin preparing for elections. Thank you to the CUSA Electoral Officers for their tireless dedication to creating a new electoral procedure to fit the virtual setting. Please stay tuned for more updates on both these motions.

Hey Ravens, I realize there has been some confusion around FundQi, the independent organization that offers Carleton students scholarship opportunities. I wrote the following piece to clear up any confusion on CUSA's role in administering student levies like the one FundQi receives. All organizations that receive levies have been voted in via referendum by the student body and can be removed via referendum. CUSA is simply a flow-through for student levies distributed to ind...ependent organizations (OPIRG, CKCU, the Charlatan, the World Food Program, and FundQi). In other words, CUSA did not "mandate" FundQi, last year's CUSA councilors allowed the referendum to happen. Students ultimately decide which levies we pay.
