Our news from Jan 22, 2020, stolen from my Mrs. post. I saw the Oncologist yesterday. The news was not great. I was told I am terminal with a few years left. This is based on the fact that my initial cancer is back again but now in two different areas/tissues. The Herceptin, which helped fight against the primary cancer is no longer reacting, so I am considered triple negative now. Kind of seems surreal as I have no symptoms and if it wasn’t for me tripping in September, none... of this would be known. The good thing is that I have more time to enjoy the things that matter as it was found early. This feels like a challenge and I am going to beat those odds and prove them wrong. The biopsies are going to be checked to see if I qualify for one of two different studies that look promising to helping me. Once I find out which one I qualify for (or not) I will begin chemo in a few weeks. Dave and I had our times to try to absorb all this information. We support each other and appreciate everyone’s kind words. It will be ok. Yes, it will be hard again but this fat lady doesn’t sing.....I am not giving up!!!!

Sorry, haven't been posting much, been when you read the rest of this post I hope you understand why! Stolen from the Mrs. Post. My lung test was excellent yesterday. I am full of hot air and probably could take up bag pipe lessons.... Received a call later that day, surgery is December 6. My inch spot is going to science and we can find out what type it is finally. This will determine if I need other treatments. If all goes well, I should be back at work by Dec 16 and enjoying the holidays.

Most model railroaders have probably heard the name Lionel Strang, a well-respected individual who's been around the industry and appeared in many publications ...over the past few decades. In September of 2014, Lionel was diagnosed with stage four melanoma, and told to prepare for the worst. This year - five years after his diagnosis - Lionel will be walking from the front doors of Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto to his home in Midhurst, Ontario, a 100 km journey.
