Happy Be-lated World Refugee Day! While imperfect, there is great push to combine Refugee asylum seeking pathway with economic mobility pathway.. See how TBB with partner organization, are Bridging Highly Skilled refugees with Canadian employers to fill the gaps that exist within the Canadian economy and workforce! https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cbc.ca/amp/1.5181232

Thank you resident of Peterborough/Nogojiwanong for putting up this sign (and for letting us use it : )) While we are welcome here. We must remember whose homelands we have entered, learn in, grow on and live on. Also be curious about the places you visit, ask who are the Indigenous Peoples/communities that cared for this land, who continue to care for the lands/waters/air

At Carmela Valles Immigration Consulting, we acknowledge that we are located on the Treaty 20 Michi Saagiig territory and in the traditional territory of the Michi Saagiig and Chippewa Nations, collectively known as the Williams Treaties First Nations, which include: Curve Lake, Hiawatha, Alderville, Scugog Island, Rama, Beausoleil, and Georgina Island First Nations. We respectfully acknowledge that the Williams Treaties First Nations are the stewards and caretakers of these... lands and waters in perpetuity, and that they continue to maintain this responsibility to ensure their health and integrity for generations to come. We in Nogojiwanong are all Treaty people. [written and approved by Chiefs/Reps from Hiawatha First Nation and Curve Lake First Nation and the Friendship Centre]. As newcomers/immigrants we offer our deep gratitude to Michi Saagiig and Chippewa Nations for their care for and teaching about our earth and our relations. May we honour these teachings everyday of our life in our new home - Nogojiwanong/Peterborough, Canada. We also recognize those who have journeyed from distant lands who share their gifts with our community in the spirit of peace, inclusion and cooperation. May we continue to actively strengthen our relationship via respect, friendship and solidarity.
