CWC Junior Program

Thank you to everyone who supported the Youth Development Christmas Basket Fundraiser. Our lucky winner was Arlene Thompson. $2176 was raised!

Our Youth Development program is selling tickets on a Christmas Gift Card Tree. There are $640 in gift cards on the tree. If you want a ticket please let us know. Tickets are $5/ ticket or 5 tickets for $20.

We can curl with a few changes: GET TO KNOW YOUR ORANGE BUDDY TEAM! In zones in the Orange Alert level, the following applies for Curling: Two teams of 4 can be... assigned to each other for game-like practices (for a total of 8 individuals). This cohort of 8 must maintain physical distancing, is not interchangeable and must be kept consistent for the duration of the Orange. This means that whatever team you are playing this week you will play again next week, until we are out of orange. These games will not be counted towards league standings and when we move back to yellow regular league rotation will resume. See more

CWC Covid - 19 Special Announcement Your safety and your ability to continue to curl is our top priority! We have been working for the last few months to prepa...re for a second wave of COVID -19. With the number of cases on the rise in other Zones, the Department of Health has instituted new protocols that we will be implementing here at the Capital Winter Club. One of these new protocols will be active screening as you enter the building. Please do a self-screening before you leave your home and if you are not feeling well let your skip know you can’t make your game. Other safety protocols being implemented are that masks are to be worn on the ice when you are not sweeping. As well, we will be reviewing the social distancing on ice policy before each draw and ask that each curler make sure they are adhering to the rules while on the ice. These changes were ratified at an emergency Board Meeting on Saturday November 21st. We appreciate all that you are already doing to help keep COVID away, but as Dr. Jennifer Russell said, there is always more we can do and now is the time to do it. The email below was just sent to all parents who have already register and paid for their curlers 2020/2021 season. We still have some limited spaces left. We are asking that all parents register their curler no later than October 21st for this season. Due to COVID all curlers will be placed in groups of 4 before the season starts. We need to have time to place curlers together and communicate these groupings to parents before our first day which is November 1st. If ...you know someone who may not have received this message below, please pass this information along. We can't wait to see everyone soon! ***************************** Good Morning Youth Development Parents; Welcome to the 2020/2021 curling season. This year will see a lot of changes from last year and as most of you are aware, times for Little Rocks and Juniors are a little different. All changes are to keep you and your curler safe. We are asking that parents respect our staff and volunteers and have some patience with all involved as we work to bring this program to you. Rules and regulations are changing all the time and this will affect what we are doing. Please check our Facebook page for regular updates. Both Juniors and Little Rocks have Facebook pages and as in most other recreational sports, this page is maintained with the most up to date information. It is your responsibility to check the facebook page for updates. Even if you do not have Facebook if you google CWC little rocks or juniors our Facebook pages come right up. This year we are asking all parents to fill out the form found at the link below. This is mandatory for your curlers participation in the program. This form needs to be filled out by Wednesday October 21st so that we can place all curlers in groups of 4. You will also be asked to pick a time for your child to curl. We will do our best to accommodate the time that you request. A number of parents asked that the meeting not be conducted by zoom this weekend so we will do the meeting by conference call.
