Remembering the great Walter Gretzky, Canada's hockey dad.
March signals rebirth. Victoria's photo of an optimistic view from the back yard last night.
I decided to rework "Bloom," a painting I finished in January. The background contour spaces have been darkened to increase contrast and lessen the impact of the purple banners. I think it works better now ... here's the final version.
Here's a memory. About 20 years ago, I took part in a ceremony honouring football players Ellison Kelly and Angelo Mosca as they were inducted into the Hamilton Ti-Cats Wall of Honour at the old Ivor Wynne Stadium in Hamilton. Angelo, who was also a pro wrestler, became a friend. Thank goodness for that ... look at the size of this guy!
I just completed this new painting. At 30 by 40 inches, "Citrus" is similar in style to other recent works. It celebrates the drama of colour while contrasting order and disorder. This is my 61st painting. Enjoy!
New Art Show and Sale at the Keene Centre for the Arts on December 6, 2020.
Today is the birthday of the late great John Winston Ono Lennon. Born in Liverpool in 1940, he would have been 80 today; and it's anyone's guess as to what kind of model for aging he would have offered us. The photo is a wonderful memory with my friend May Pang, John's partner from 1973-1975.
Here's a 4-minute video tour of some of my recent paintings on display last weekend at the Artisans Centre in Peterborough. Thanks to Victoria for the shoot.
Thanks to the Peterborough Examiner for today's coverage of our Camp Kawartha news.
Some news today.
"In The Woods."
Thanks to the Peterborough Examiner for today's coverage of my paintings that are part of the Artisan Centre Peterborough Open House.
I have a new show and sale this Thursday, Friday and Saturday at Peterborough Square. Drop by if you can!
Well here's an early morning surprise...
Thanks to the Lakefield Herald for today's coverage of last Sunday's sale and show of my new paintings at the Art in The Park event. This piece is an abstract take on the beauty of the woods. T-shirt complements of Victoria.
Thanks to Heather and Dan Watson for purchasing two of my paintings. Here's one of them -- "Lost Peterborough" -- that we hung in their beautiful home last night. Looks great!
Show and sale of my paintings at a great Artisans Centre event on October 1, 2nd and 3rd at Peterborough Square.
Good crowd, good sales and great vibes at my Lakefield art show and sale Sunday. And it was made even better by a visit from the great Montreal Canadiens legend -- and art lover -- Bob Gainey. Thanks to Victoria for the photo!
