If youre struggling with weight gain, sluggish feeling or inability to get motivated here is a suggestion. Stock up on nutrition-packed foods that will stay fresh for a week or longer. Cook your meals ahead of time and divide them into containers for the week. Also have fresh fruit available for snacking. Portion your food out at the beginning of the week and make a promise to yourself that you will only eat that portion for each day. Make sure your food is fresh and void of... any additives, processed sugar or preservatives. Here is a sample list: Breadswhole grain English muffins, bagels, breads, wraps, frozen whole wheat waffles, Ezekiel bread or spelt/kamut bread. If today your head weighs heavy and your plans feel like a curse, theres no shame in rearranging, dont make yourself feel worse. If a shower stings like needles and a bath feels like youll drown, if you havent washed your hair for days, dont throw away your crown. A day is not a lifetime, a rest is not defeat. Dont think of it as failure, just a quiet, kind retreat. Its OK to take a moment from an anxious, fractured mind. The world will not stop turning, while you get realigned. All the money in the world cannot bring back YESTERDAY. We cannot undo a single act we performed, we cannot erase a single word we said. YESTERDAY is gone. The othe...r day we should not worry about is TOMORROW. With its possible adversities, its burdens, its larger promise, TOMORROW is also beyond our immediate control. TOMORROW, the sun will rise, either in splendor or behind a mask of clouds, but it will rise. Until it dies, we have no stake in tomorrow for it is as yet unborn. This leaves only one day - TODAY. I read of a man who stood to speak at the funeral of a friend. He referred to the dates on her tombstone from the beginning... to the end. He noted that first came the date of her birth and spoke of the following date with tears, but he said what mattered most of all was the dash between those years. For that dash represents all the time that she spent alive on earth and now only those who loved her know what that little line is worth. For it matters not, how much we owe, the car..the house.. the cash. What matters is how much we live and love and how we spend our dash.

My best friend is Jordan Binnington's mom, (L...indsay) we have known each other since grade 7 and I have watched how our lives have changed year by year, day by day. Little Jordan enjoy time at our cottage and with my children. For most of you he is the guy in front of the hockey net for the St. Louis Blues. From the time Jordan was 16 his life has changed immensely, but through all that he always made room for change and never gave up. At 16 he was drafted to the Owensound attack, at 18 he was drafted by the St. Louis Blues. He lived in Owensound, Kalamazoo Michigan, play for the Chicago wolves and Boston Bruins farm team. He was then sent to San Antonio Texas and by December he was playing in the NHL. Along the way there were a lot of disappointments, rejections, missed family events, sadness and exhaustion. His life was constantly changing but it was his ability to cope with these changes that mattered. No matter what you're dealing with today, change is possible. Life isn't going to change by clicking your heels together nor is it going to happen instantly. Tips for navigating your way through a buffet with minimal waistline damage. Go for the greens and make your first stop the salad bar. Pile your plate full of leafy greens, colorful vegetables, and a non-creamy dressing such as oil and vinegar or a light vinaigrette. If you need some extra crunch, add a few whole grain croutons and a couple spoonfuls of nuts. Having a salad as your first course can keep you from overeating the entree choices. To reduce the risk of overeating..., only choose one high-fat, high-calorie favorite. If you can't live without that cheesy cream sauce, have only one modest portion and then opt for grilled or baked meat or fish and steamed vegetables to fill the rest of your plate. A good calorie-control rule is to keep your plate balanced with 1/4 protein, 1/4 carbohydrates, and 1/2 vegetables. Avoid foods that are fried or have a crispy coating, cream-based soups and salad dressings, and creamy cheese sauces and gravies. Opt for broth-based soups, vinegar-based salad dressings, and tomato sauces. Try choosing things you can never eat or cook yourself like a fish dish or veggie dish. Keep portion sizes small Keeping your portions small will allow you to eat a wider variety of foods, yet minimize the number of calories you consume. Eat slowly and only eat three plates of food. Three plates of food may seem like a lot, but if you have one plate for a salad, one for a main course, and one for a dessert, then you are eating a typical three-course meal. Keep beverages to water, soda and high sugar beverages add calories. If you really want dessert have a small one or split it with someone at your table. Good health also depends on what you are absorbing. Bug repellent with deet can cause hives, blistering, burning, scaring, coughing, vomiting, seizures. Natural bug repellent = 4 tbsp fresh mint leaves chopped+4 tbsp chopped lavender leaves+ 1 1/2 cups of water+1 cup rubbing alcohol. Boil the water first then cool.
