These beautiful cards are just a few that came in the Virgin Radio Winnipeg Cards for Care bundle that was dropped off for our patients, residents, and Veterans. The love and care that went into these cards is overwhelming and we are so incredibly full of gratitude. Thank you to all who contributed!

The elves at Virgin Radio Winnipeg have outdone themselves yet again! Chrissy Troy stopped by last week to deliver 1,000 cards for our patients, residents, and Veterans. These cards were made by lovely members of the community during the Cards for Care campaign. They will put smiles on hundreds of faces and truly mean so much to us and to the folks who call Deer Lodge Centre Home. Thank you to everyone at Virgin Radio and to everyone who sent in a card. We love you all!

We’re feeling festive and reliving the magic that was last year’s tree lighting ceremony. Residents Sharon and Edgar helped us light the lights and it was a truly wonderful day. We hope that 2021 will be just as lovely and bright!

Here's a fun throwback Thursday! Our iconic Angel Of Victory statue before it made it's way to Deer Lodge in 1990. The statue, created by Montreal sculpt Coeur de Lion McCarthy, was originally placed outside Winnipeg's CP Rail station in 1922.

Jose the Deer Lodge 'Soup Master: is back tomorrow serving up delicious, warm clam chowder with a garlic tea biscuit for $6. We'll also have a bit of Chicken Gumbo on hand for the non-chowder crowd. See you then!

Happy Thanksgiving weekend! Our celebrations may look a little different this year but we hope that you all have the chance to rest and give thanks. Our internal campaign for the United Way and the Foundation kicks off in a few weeks. Although it will look a lot different this year (because of COVID-19) we're still hoping to have a ton of fun! Last year we kicked things off with a 'tail gate' party and invited the Winnipeg Blue Bombers Alumni to join us. Here's a throwback from that wonderful day.

SOUND ON! We would like to send another thank you to the Royal Canadian Air Force 'Command Brass' brass quintet for entertaining our Veterans during our delayed VJDay celebration. The music was SPECTACULAR, and enjoyed by all.

A while ago we were contacted by an anonymous donor who wanted to do something nice for the staff at Deer Lodge Centre. because of that incredible generosity, today we were able to partner with High Tea Bakery to provide an imperial cookie to all of our wonderful staff! Thank you for your caring generosity.

We were treated to a beautiful rainbow over Deer Lodge Centre this morning. A reminder that even rainy days can be beautiful. Make it a great day everyone!

This photo was already posted a few days ago but it's too wonderful not to share again. Edgar was showing off his medals (from Italy, Germany, France, and England if our memory serves us correctly) and wanted us to put him on the Facebook. What a guy!

On Monday, masks will be mandatory indoors in Manitoba (and of course during visits to Deer Lodge Centre). If you need a mask, we have you covered! We're selling them at the Dancing Bear Gift Shop with all proceeds going to the foundation.

What a wonderful day we had today! We had originally intended to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the end of WWII with our Veterans on VJ Day, but unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate and social distancing meant that our plans couldn't be brought indoors. But, today was a bright and sunny day and we celebrated with a concert for our Veterans by the Royal Canadian Air Force 'Command Brass' brass quintet. Thank you to everyone who helped to make today such a wonderful success!

Soup’s on! Thank you to everyone who bought a bowl today and supported the Foundation. Next week is creamy broccoli cheddar!

Don't forget, tomorrow is soup day! Jose will be cooking up nutritions bowls of soup on Main Street in Deer Lodge Centre from 11:00 - 1:00. All proceeds support the foundation. (And we'll be selling coffee too!)

Our Thousand Thank Yous campaign officially wraps up tomorrow and we still have a way to go to hit our goal.
