Happy #tonguesouttuesday from one of our regular guest, Goober! Such a handsome fella! Dog tongue fact! Dogs only have sweat glands on their paws and nose. This makes it a lot harder to cool down from sweating like humans do. Dogs use their tongues to cool down on hot days. Dogs panting makes air move quickly over the tongue, around the mouth and upper respiratory tract, this has the same effect as sweating, as moisture can evaporate and lowers the temperature of their bloo...d. Approximately, 300 to 400 breaths per minute are taken when a dog is panting instead of their usual 30 to 40 normal breaths. Post a photo of your dog’s tongue out in the comments below! We want to see!

It’s Monday again! Time for #meetthepackmonday! Here we have our main man MAXX! Tongue out showing some of his attitude. Maxx is an English Bulldog. Maxx is a sweet, loyal companion dog. This dude makes it impossible to NOT fall in love with him. You can usually find him snoring like a freight train in his bed, sleeping in the last bit of sunlight that is poking through the windows, sleeping in the couches in the daycare room or casually walking last in the pack from yard to... yard. This cool guy is in no rush at anytime, and we LOVE it! English Bulldog Fact: English Bulldogs were bred for bullbaiting which involved the dog grabbing onto the bull's nose and roughly shaking it. It was thought to tenderize the bull's meat. This practice was said to "thin" the blood of the bull and make its flesh tender after it was butchered. This became a popular spectator sport in a time when there were no professional sports, TV shows, movies, or video games. The angry bull would toss the dog up in the air with its horns if it could. The dog, on the other hand, would attempt to latch onto the bull, usually at its snout, and pin it to the ground through the force of its painful bite. Sounds barbaric! Typically, they crept on their bellies toward the enraged bull so he couldn't get his horns under their bodies and toss them up in the air. Their wide mouths and powerful jaws were impossible for the bull to shake off once the Bulldog had a firm hold on its snout. His short, flat nose enabled the Bulldog to breathe while holding onto the bull's snout. The Bulldog's high tolerance for pain was developed to enhance his ability to excel at this barbarous sport. Even the wrinkles on his head had a purpose to direct the blood that resulted from his grip on the bull to flow away from his eyes so he wouldn't be blinded. Doesn’t sound like the snoring, flatulent, overeating English Bulldogs that we have come to know today.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF DOGGY DAYCARE? There are many benefits of the dog daycare service that The Dog’s Paw provides. Many of our clients are surprised just how much a weekly play-date can improve their lives and their dog’s life. Benefits:... -Structured Socializing -Separation Anxiety Treatment -Physical Exercise -Provides Routine -Owner Peace of Mind 1. Our dog daycare service provides a structured and controlled environment for your dog to interact with other dogs of all breeds, sizes, temperaments and play styles. We ensure positive experiences even for the shy guys! Always advocating for them to help build confidence and good manners. 2. No one wants their dog wallowing away alone in their sadness while you are at work. Daycare can provide an outlet and social environment to satisfy the need of activity and structure. 3. Daycare sessions will keep your pup active both physically and mentally. By not having this, some dogs become prone to weight, mobility, and digestion issues. Getting them out with other active dogs will increase willingness and excitement of being active and having fun! 4. When dogs are home, they have a routine. Breakfast, bathroom breaks, naps and so on. Daycare has the same instead of just laying on the couch sleeping, in a crate or causing trouble....... 5. You worked all day, why come home to a destroyed home, damaged property, accidents or just an over all sad dog? These actions are usually your dog just telling you that they are agitated and bored. Providing daycare will do away with the stress and worry of what you will get home to. You will have peace of mind knowing that they are happy, safe, and so is your home! Click the link below to create a profile and book a daycare day for your four-legged family member! https://crm.pawfinity.com/the-dogs-paw/online-booking/
